At Maneno we are passionate about reading. So much that we have devoted all our energy for the past 6 years to build the world’s best reading app (iOS + Android) for children in the age group 5-11. Some refer to us as the “Spotify for children's books”, but we actually think of ourselves as the company that gets kids excited by reading.

Maneno is currently used by over 25.000 kids each month and we are right now expanding globally to unlock the power of reading for all children in the world. We are a start-up so expect hierarchy to be flat and fast decisions to be made as it is important we remain agile and in constant development.

As a backend developer you will work closely with our highly skilled development and design team that are based in the Ukraine and have the support you need to develop new tools for internal tools or API updates that support our many end-users.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

• Experience with modern web frameworks and technologies.

• Experience with Python or .NET , and an interest in system architecture, caching techniques, REST APIs and data modelling.

• You have experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Postgres or similar.

• Maybe you also have experience with Docker and AWS services such as ECS, S3, etc.

• You are able to work independently and thrive well with working remotely.

  
  

As a student developer we expect you to be available 10-20 hours per week. Because you will be working with an international team you have the flexibility to fit working hours into your own schedule and decide where you want to work.

Because most of our team is working remotely we try to host quarterly virtual events (Escape rooms, Gin tasting etc.) and more formal kickoffs 2 times per year where we all meet for a fun day of socialising and hacking on side projects in Copenhagen or abroad.
