The fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world. Do you want to play an active role in changing that? Organic Basics is on the lookout for a passionate, meticulous Frontend Developer to join our team in Copenhagen.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for prototyping, evolving and maintaining our e-commerce platform (https://organicbasics.com), based on the Shopify Storefront API, applying your best-practice knowledge to bridge the gap between our front-end systems (based on Vue.js & TypeScript) and backend components (based on Python & Node.js), as well as developing exciting interactive campaigns, similar to our Low-Impact Website (https://lowimpact.organicbasics.com), our yearly Impact Report (https://impact-report.organicbasics.com) or our Regenerative Cotton Initiative (https://regenerative.organicbasics.com). We're not only a direct-to-consumer brand – we're an organization with a purpose to be proactive in finding new solutions that address our climate crisis and inspire lasting change across our industry.


The ideal candidate is a developer with a passion for web-development and e-commerce, ready to show to the world that we can do all of this in a more sustainable way. You will be joining a multidisciplinary team of web and backend developers, data analysts and scientists as well as UX/UI designers which is on a mission to make a positive impact in the fashion industry by applying modern technology.


Job requirements:

  • Drive on how we use data to improve and evolve our current web solutions, sharpen our KPIs and optimize our e-commerce performance

  • Inspiring our UI/UX designer with new perspectives on how we can get a better customer experience on our website implementing new features and campaigns

  • Integrating external and in-house API’s with the frontend side of our website to enable complex and customized user experiences

  • Building proofs-of-concept for new in-house ideas and enable stakeholders to test and understand them

  • Mentor and coach our frontend team to raise to new levels; reviewing code, pair-programming and build a continuous loop of constructive feedback

  • Support the streamlining our development processes so there’s more time to focus on building exciting new features and campaigns


Who you are:

  • You have 5+ years of professional developer experience

  • As a base, we expect you to be

    • a JavaScript fiend

    • proficient with TypeScript

    • experienced with Node.js as well as modern JS frameworks like React, Vue or Angular.

    • experienced working with REST API, GraphQL and webhooks

    • familiar with Python or other backend languages and frameworks are a plus

    • and we love to hear more on your personal focus and other assets

  • In your way of coding,

    • concepts like KISS, YAGNI and DRY are part of your daily coding business, all well documented.

    • you set-up your test cases in a well-balanced, automated way and consider tests on all necessary levels (unit, integration, regression)

    • you are familiar with dockerized projects

  • You are keen to bring yourself in with

    • your steady record working on e-commerce websites, which allows you to serve from a rich field of best practices and experiences.

    • your drive to build interactive experiences that are both fast and pleasing as well as promoting accessibility and i18n.

  • You have experience working with agile development processes and like to work in an interdisciplinary team, supporting pragmatic approaches and making ends meet.

  • You love to discuss different approaches, derive new ways to solve problems and to pass on your knowledge to your colleagues.
