React / PHP developer to a fintech startup

At WordPay, a Copenhagen-based fin-/mediatech, we seek a driven and structured React/PHP developer to join our development team in Copenhagen.

What we are looking for

We seek a backend “leaning” front-end developer with a keen interest in bringing ideas to life. You can write beautiful code but can also get things done when required. You have worked on projects where React and PHP/Laravel are used, and you know your way around in various API playgrounds.

We take for granted that you know git, Jira, Slack, Figma/Sketch/XD, etc. 

We imagine you have 2-4 years of experience from a similar position in a start-up or media/publishing company. You are very comfortable in English, both in writing and speaking. Fluency in Swedish is a plus.

Type of assignments 

Our goal is to match you with the types of tasks that give you energy. For now, some of the core assignments we see our new developer work on are:

• Developing our customer-facing platforms

• Developing our Analytics platform

• Assisting in customer integration calls and follow-ups with our customer success manager

About us 

You’ll be part of a great team of 10 colleagues in Copenhagen and Delhi. We are UX’ers, front-end developers, founder-team, and sales.

Our mission is to make quality journalism accessible for all. We allow users to access articles behind the digital paywall through a 1-click solution that facilitates user payment and access to journalistic content. This happens through our immersive software widget that appears for users while they visit our media partners’ sites. 

We provide the digital tools and data to drive new revenue and increase conversions for our media partners. We have launched our MVP software product among a group of media companies in Sweden during the spring of 2021. Stalk us on LinkedIn or at wordpay.io.

What you’ll get out of it 

We are still small enough that you will get an invaluable all-around view of the different elements required in building a technology company and software product.

Experience with user-driven, agile product development will be valuable in your future career in either other startups or corporate or governmental innovation environments.

Get client exposure and attain experience in interacting with clients and stakeholders.

An in-depth understanding of the commercial challenges publishers are facing. If you have an academic interest in this field, there will be opportunities to attain data for your master project, in which we will be happy to support you to this end.

Practicalities

We are seeking one full-time developer. Start by the 1st of August (or during July).

The work will take place as a mix of our office and home office.
