Senior UX Researcher - Falcon.io

About the role

Our small UX Research team is growing, and we are excited to open a Senior UX Researcher position. We are looking for an experienced researcher, who is ready to join us in the journey of establishing UX Research as a natural part of the design process.

This team's work revolves around involving our users on a regular basis when doing exploratory, strategic and tactical research, but also on developing design metrics to measure the user experience and the quality of our design, starting up a user panel, experimenting with Googles Happiness Tracking Survey (HaTS) and much more. In the UX Research team, nothing is set in stone. Our working approach is that of continuous learning–we're not afraid to make mistakes. There is no manual for the best way to utilise UX Research–let's discover it together.

What you will do:

  • Design, lead and conduct all sorts of research projects like interviews, surveys, think aloud tests, heat map tests etc.

  • Work closely with the product teams

  • Facilitate workshops

  • Co-create with product teams and stakeholders

  • Come up with and lead new initiatives and help establish UX Research as a natural part of the design process

  • Present your findings to the R&D department and the rest of the organisation

What you'll need:

  • 4+ years experience with research – you know the basic research skills and methods, and you can confidently design and lead a research project from beginning to end

  • Experience working within a similar tech company or enterprise software company

  • Experience working closely with product teams

  • Experience with facilitating workshops and doing co-creation with product teams and stakeholders

  • Enjoy presenting insights internally to RnD or broadly across the organisation

  • A background in human-computer interaction, ethnography, anthropology, user/UX research or service design

    Moreover you are:

  • Passionate about starting new initiatives and leading them

  • Hungry to learn and naturally curious

  • A great team player (who also enjoys focused solo analysis work)

  • Happy to mentor and teach colleagues more about research

  • Passionate about experimenting, happy to fail and learn as you go along

Not a requirement, but we’d love it if you:

  • Have been contributing actively to the development of a research repository

  • Have experience with UX Outcomes, design metrics and how to quantify research outcome

  • Know how to do data analysis from bigger data sets

  • Have tried working with the lean UX Canvas approach

  • Are familiar with customer journey mapping and the creating of personas

  • Have experience with conducting competitive analysis and market research

  • Have experience with or knowledge about how to build a UX Research strategy

  • Enjoy storytelling and being creative when presenting insights
