About Autobutler
Autobutler is one of Europe's largest online marketplaces for car repairs. We want to make car ownership smarter, easier and cheaper through the world's largest online network of garages. The company has activities in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, UK, and France. Our business model will potentially disrupt garages standing on the threshold to big changes in the automotive industry. With almost 1,000,000 registered customers, we are a significant digital player. We’ve been owned by the French/Italian automotive group Stellantis since 2016.
We are 40 employees doing product / web development, sales, customer care and marketing in five countries out of our Copenhagen office.
Our stack
Our setup consists of a primary Ruby on Rails monolith, a few services built in Ruby & Elixir and a React SPA. We use PostgreSQL for our databases and Sidekiq & Redis for background jobs. Our code is hosted on Github and we host almost all of our applications on Heroku. We have automated tests running, and deploy multiple times a day.
How we work
You will join a small, dynamic and efficient team that is 100% familiar with the core business of Autobutler. We work in 2 week sprints, where we evaluate progress and upcoming projects midway to ensure we’re always aligned with key stakeholders. We’re flexible and keen to accommodate your way of working. We know how important flexibility is, and necessary discovery tracks are, in order to stay ahead of the competition as a global marketplace.
We enjoy frequent pizza nights and “deploy” burgers, participation is not mandatory but we hope you’ll have fun with us! We use these events as a means to celebrate random achievements. Quarterly, we gather the whole company to elaborate on company updates and achievements.
The role
We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working with different technologies and has no trouble switching between frontend and backend work. You do not need to have an eye for design, but having an opinion and a preference for simple and clean UX is appreciated. Your work will have a direct impact on the commercial success of Autobutler as a business.
Your skills and experience
It would be fantastic if you have experience with Ruby on Rails, but if your background is that you’ve worked with different programming languages in combination with other MVC frameworks such as Django, Laravel or similar technologies, we’re sure you’ll be able to pick up Ruby on Rails given the right introduction!
The ideal candidate has already had a few years of professional work experience and is looking for an opportunity to have a large impact on a growing company.
What we offer
At autobutler you will join a small and enthusiastic team of developers and a company with a flat organizational structure. You will have a direct impact on how we are building and developing our application in close collaboration with our Tech Lead.
You will automatically be a part of the whole autobutler business, a highly motivated team with over nine nationalities and five business languages, such as English, Danish, Swedish, German and French.
Besides work, we enjoy lunch every day in our kitchen, Friday bars and other social activities.
