Lenus is experiencing strong financial growth. The company has been bootstrapped since its inception and currently has a recurring platform revenue of +12M DKK every month. Lenus is operating in Denmark, Sweden, Great Britain, and Germany – and is looking to further internationally expand in 2021.

We are looking for a talented lead data engineer, who will take the lead in establishing our high performance insight and personalisation platform. We want allow our personal trainers to drill down and analyse business data, segment clients by behaviour, trigger automated actions on specific events – all in in real time in our web application built in NodeJS and React.

As a Lead Data Engineer, your mission will be to

• Establish the foundation for an architecture that can accommodate, orchestrate, and combine large amounts of data across multiple sources and types.

• Design developer friendly APIs

• Construct a data store with appropriate storage and query types.

• Provide possibilities to store and analyse time series event data.

• Design and implement task execution systems where appropriate

• Join and lead discussions around different platform initiatives.

• Take occasional charge in troubleshooting and maintaining high quality and low bug count in our core products.

Types of questions we would like to answer

• Geolocating clients by IP

• Distinguishing clients by multiple dimensions - all clients in London who was online within the last 4 hours and like vegan meals with potatoes

• Finding all clients who hasn't tracked their workout within the last 14 days

• Finding all clients who are 10% from reaching their weight loss goal more than 10 days faster than planned

• Finding all clients for a coach with outstanding payments

• How many clients who have an NPS score above 8 are extending their subscription beyond the initial 6 months.

About you:

Ideally, you

• Are an Engineer at heart (please, see https://www.notion.so/lenus/Engineers-at-heart-6232f941df4b4b26828c4ca578abb83f)

• Have 3 or more years of professional full time experience in hands-on software development.

• Have solid written and verbal communication, are able to clearly articulate technically complex problems and solutions to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

• Are proficient in handling and implementing data stores with large amounts of data and have no problem juggling between systems like Cassandra, Kafka, ElasticSearch and similar technologies.

• Have experience in working with relational databases like PostgreSQL.

• Are attentive to detail with a high focus on writing high quality, maintainable code.

• Are a true believer and a practitioner of automated testing at all levels.

• Have willingness and ability to pick up new technologies and frameworks when required.
