Position as commercial director / product manager at IDUN audio ApS
We are looking for an experienced leader with a strong commercial background, to market and sell our spatial audio headphone software to a wide range of hardware OEMs. You must have a track record of engaging large customers and selling deep technical products, preferably in the audio industry. You should be able to analyse the market and, based on your insight into our company’s technology, be able to inform the strategy for rolling out spatial audio solutions to headphone manufacturers all around the world. Who we are
IDUN audio is an early-stage startup developing virtual- and augmented reality audio software. Our unique spatial audio engine runs inside headphones, making it possible to create many moving sound sources around a listener. The sources can be placed in any acoustical space, from a small sound studio to a large concert hall. The listener is free to move to explore the sound, due to position- and rotation tracking devices. This advanced embedded software platform can be configured to improve many real-life situations, like communicating in difficult environments, playing computer games, watching movies, navigation and mapping, interactive teamwork, traffic control, etc. We are experiencing a strong pull from the market and have signed our first commercial agreements.
What you will be working with
As part of the senior management, you will be primarily responsible for shaping, and executing on, the sales and marketing strategy of the company. In general, you will be the primary contact to our B2B customers and should build up a thorough knowledge of their needs and decision processes. Based on these insights our products should be targeted at the appropriate entry points in the customers’ development flows. Knowledge of the customer needs should also be communicated back to the technical team to continuously inform our internal creative processes. It is important to be a hands-on leader, who can open doors and can drive our agenda in larger companies. It is especially important to have a good understanding of the organizational structures employed by our customers. This is to ensure that the sales effort is focused on internal projects with large potential for commercial success. You will be instrumental in structuring the company’s product offering. In discussions with customers you will be responsible in defining the price structure, agreeing on delivery schedules and negotiating contracts.
Who you are
You have a strong background in selling software/technical products in a B2B setup. It will be a great plus if you have experience working in the audio industry. You have a university degree in business or engineering, and have a proven track record (at least 5 years) in bringing complex products to market. You are able to formulate a cohesive sales/marketing strategy and can structure and execute the roll-out of a complete product portfolio. You are also able to communicate your knowledge to the technical team, to inform and guide development processes. You are acutely aware of how the company’s products are used and perceived by end users. You are genuinely interested in improving the lives of end users in everyday listening situations.

Therefore we are looking for someone with the right background, to throw their weight into IDUN audio for making it a roaring success. In that regard it is important to be clear that, in order to reap the great rewards that can come out of a startup, your dedication will be required. Being in a startup does not always come with the conveniences of a large established company. Therefore, you are someone who is actively seeking new challenges and can tolerate living with some amount of risk. Having an understanding of the economic constraints of a startup, you do not demand a top salary, but are interested in a share of the company and potentially becoming a co-founder.
