We're changing the way people enjoy wine and consequently disrupting one of the oldest industries on the planet. Over the next ten years, the global market for online wine sales is expected to grow significantly, and at Vivino, we are planning to be at the forefront of this growth. We have many great opportunities, plans, and ideas lined up, and we are looking for talented people to help make these come to life.
Working at Vivino
Working at Vivino is both challenging, fun, and rewarding. We have an incredible, multicultural, and truly international work culture where we take care and look out for each other. We appreciate new ideas, and we encourage everyone to bring them to the table. We are not afraid to make mistakes – as long as we take ownership, learn from them and support each other in getting even better. And we have a lot of fun!
Write tests, improve processes and app architecture
As Senior iOS Developer, you will get the opportunity to make a difference in how we do things. We have a massive reach with approximately 55 million app users. Therefore, our work has an impact, and we face many different and exciting challenges daily.
In this role, your key responsibility will be to take complete ownership of code writing. Your focus will be on writing high-quality code and always balance the quality with the deadlines. You will write tests and regularly perform code reviews
Adding to that, we are looking for a Senior Developer who can help improve our development process. Our goal is to work towards a perfect two-week sprint – and you would be a part of estimating tasks, coordinating between different teams, and contribute with your opinions on the product, deadlines, etc. Furthermore, you will be involved in improving the app architecture; participating in discussions about the patterns and the tools we need to solve current challenges. A part of the job is engaging with various stakeholders to e.g. negotiate the details of a feature. In that sense there’s a product focus in the position. As part of the iOS team, you will also help more junior developers grow their skills and contribute to new colleagues' training.
Adaptable and service-minded team player with solid communication skills
We work with iterations – and we hope to see that you enjoy this way of working and that you are keen to take responsibility for and work on our product. Being a skilled communicator, you can easily connect with people across the business and adapt to different situations and environments. You are open and service-minded towards people, tasks, and new ideas, and you want to understand the business and its requirements. And you are not afraid to bring your own ideas to the table and make critical decisions.
Adding to the above, we envision that you have and can demonstrate:
Knowledge of core iOS frameworks and tools
Minimum 5 years of professional experience
A degree within Computer Science, Engineering, or similar
Experience from working in a dynamic environment
Several years of experience writing Swift
Familiarity with Objective-C
Experience in writing unit tests with good code coverage.
Knowledge of software architecture principles and design patterns
Deep knowledge of UIKit
Proficiency in English
Further, we consider it an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have:
Background in ensuring scalability and maintainability of a large codebase
Working knowledge of TDD methodology
Experience from working in a team
Experience with doing code reviews
Expertise in working with persistence, networking, and multithreading on iOS
Ability to work with and integrate third-party libraries
