Ruby on Rails Developer for E-Learning Product

Salary Competitive

Blueprint Learning is growing and looking for several Ruby on Rails developers to help move our platform for professional on demand e-learning forward. Our products include the verticals ADVOkurser.dk and REVIkurser.dk along with partner sites powered by one monolithic Rails app.

Our brand new office is in the center of Copenhagen and you will be joining a dynamic team with a fun and relaxed work environment but we're also open to remote candidates. The hierarchy is flat, individual responsibility is high and micromanagement is non-existent.

The development team is small so you will quickly be able to leave your mark on both the code and process. We use rubocop + Code Climate, CI/CD, code reviews on GitHub, host on Heroku and care about code quality as much as we care about architecture.

It's not all work though. We have a fully stocked Friday bar, a very worn foosball table and throw a party several times a year. Everything completely optional of course if that's not your thing.

You

You have a relevant education in computer science and / or relevant work experience. You like problem-solving by engaging your team mates but are also able to self-motivate and get things done.

 Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively define and prioritize projects and tasks.

  • Develop features for the application.

  • Dev-ops related tasks, monitoring, etc. We host on Heroku to spend as little time as possible on dev-ops but there will be tasks here and there.

  • Participate in code reviews and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback for your team.

  • Triage, reproduce and debug technical support requests / bugs.

 Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.

  • Experience with APIs and integration of 3rd party services.

  • RSpec or similar test framework experience.

  • Advanced level English.

  • You work on Mac and/or Linux.

  • You live in the GMT+0 or GMT+1 timezone and have experience working remotely.

Bonus

  • Experience with Heroku.

  • Experience with JavaScript / CSS and the desire to work on frontend issues as well.

  • Open source / personal projects portfolio.

How to Apply

NOTE: No recruiters, agencies please.

Apply before 26th of June.

When you apply please submit your CV and/or LinkedIn profile, GitHub or otherwise relevant sites. Bonus for submitting source code you've written and/or links to your open source commits.

Working at
Blueprint Learning

“If you are not ahead, you are falling behind” … and other clichés, which alludes to the simple fact that if your company does not constantly evolve, it inevitably falls behind. As such, the need for easy and effective consumption of knowledge has never been more acute. Nor has the need for efficiency and quality. Enter Blueprint Learning. Since 2015, Blueprint Learning has provided an e-learning platform for mandatory education with the simple goal to provide professionals with an easy-to-use, no-nonsense learning experience. We started our journey creating courses to lawyers and have since branched out into numerous other verticals. To date, we host over 250 unique courses, produced in our two state-of-the-art studios. And that is just what we have done so far. The really exciting thing is what we are going to next! And the goal is quite ambitious: We want to be the premiere provider of knowledge and learning in Europe. So, why should you consider Blueprint Learning? Well, if you ask us, the reasons are plenty. You get to be part of an established company, but still get to experience a very ambitious expansion strategy. Operating out of our offices at the heart of Copenhagen, you join a company, where you, at all levels of the organization, are offered a large level of autonomy, room to grow and ample opportunity to do meaningful work. The company culture is notoriously laid back and offers you the flexibility you need in your life to be the best version of yourself; that way, we believe you can also be the best professional when you work. We are a social bunch, with weekly Friday bars, breakfast, company events and all the other exciting things you would expect from a modern company. We are very excited about the future, and would love to hear from you, if you believe you can contribute towards it.
