Your responsibilities and tasks

Rethinking the property industry is no easy task and one of your key challenges will be to redefine communication within the industry. As we are managing peoples homes and businesses, the right tone of voice and framing is crucial.

Your responsibility will be to solve this challenge; to help us define and execute our brand, PR-positioning, internal and external communication, and to ensure that everything we communicate is consistent in conveying our story and reflecting our values.

You will be given full ownership of these areas, while working close together with all parts of the business.

In short, you will be responsible for: 

  • Defining our tone of voice and communication style

  • Ensuring that we have consistent and streamlined communication across all channels, departments and countries

  • Increasing awareness of Proper in all of our markets through Earned, Owned and Shared Media.

  • Overseeing and creating content for marketing, retention and education purposes

  • Overseeing agencies and freelancers

  • Monitor the media landscape

  • Drafting and selling stories to while managing media relations

  • Track and report progress on all the above.


The ideal candidate

As you are our first communications hire, you will be key in our growth. We will have very high expectations of you, but we will also offer you the opportunity to grow with the company.  

Furthermore, the more these bullets you can tick off the better:

  • You have done it before: Taken a company from no communication or awareness to being a known voice. Preferably in several countries.

  • +3 years of experience in a similar role at a scale-up or communication/brand agency

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, branding, or equivalent work experience

  • Very execution-focused. You can make a plan, stick to it, while enjoying rolling your sleeves up and getting the work done

  • Have experience with copywriting, content creation and storytelling

  • Comfortable with working in a very fast-paced and result-oriented environment

  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken, in English. Preferably also in Danish, German or Dutch

  • Strong network in the media industry.

You have a great work ethic, want to be the best in what you do and take ownership of your projects.
