Spiio – a very short introduction

We help sports turf professionals save money and labor time by managing their golf courses and sports facilities. Our product is a wireless sensor that tracks soil moisture, temperature and data from the ground hour by hour. The data helps to keep the complete overview – anywhere, anytime. Our customers? High profile golf courses in the US, great American football teams, baseball fields, Champions League soccer clubs in Europe and multinational agriculture fertilizer companies. 

Why do we need you? 

For many good reasons. Spiio’s architecture is a state-of-the-art microservice setup running on Kubernetes on Google Cloud with MongoDB and InfluxDB handling data streams and analytics. We’re not shy to say that it’s becoming one of the best IoT platforms out there. We need to keep on improving it. That’s why we need you now. 

The role - what will you do 

As a leading IoT platform developer you will be involved in all aspects of the life cycle, from requirement gathering through development, devops and operations. You are able to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and driving and architecting IoT infrastructure.

We imagine that you…

are a team-player. With lots of personal drive to deliver a new IoT platform to our customers. In the perfect world, you have experience in everything mentioned below. Yet, we know that the perfect world doesn’t exist. Anyway, it would be preferable if you know your way around:

• Industrial IoT and supporting communication protocols

• Data science and engineering

• Nodejs ES6 Javascript  / Typescript and unit testing

• Docker and Microservice architectures

• Time-series databases and MongoDB

• Google Cloud, Docker and Kubernetes 

• Modern authorization mechanisms (like Json Web Token)

• Modern built pipelines and tools

• RESTful APIs (preferably experience in GraphQL)

• Familiar with complex architecture
