Energy Machines is expanding into new areas, and in a new partnership with a major international SW company, we are assembling the best in the SW field to work with already signed up customers. You will be part of this agile and nimble small team of specialists, with full authority over the projects, but still able to access the technical backing and support of a partnering organization we co-operate with, with more than 1000 employees and beyond 30 years on the road.

The job

We are looking for an innovative and experienced SW Architect to design SW modernization and migration solutions and strategies, acting as a bridge between our customers and the programmers coding these solutions. You will not be doing any of the coding yourself, nor micro-manage the tasks or the programmers. You will instead be selecting the already existing blocks that can be re-used, re-purposed or purchased, and the new ones that must be custom made and all the details that ensure a seamless integration of these. You love interconnecting block diagrams and understand how important it is to have customer requirements written as precise as possible. To. the. very. last. dot.

The job requires someone broad and wise, rather than a specialist in a single field or a single programming language.

You have/can do

• Minimum bachelor's degree in IT, CS, SW engineering, or similar

• Must: proven minimum 5 years experience in SW engineering + 3 years specifically in SW architecture design.

• Must: Experience developing or designing complex SW, running on multiple Operating systems, particularly non MS Windows. Experience in more OSes than Linux is a plus+

• Versed in a variety of programming languages, middlewares and databases. Both proprietary as well as Open source. The same way that a maestro knows how to play some of each musical instrument type...

• Previous experience with SW migration & legacy codebase maintenance is a plus+

• Because you will act in direct connection with project managers, SW team leads and customer's technology managers, previous experience in any of these 3 positions is a plus+

• Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must

• Additional Fluency in other major European languages is a merit
