In eloomi, the Tech Lead is a hybrid role with one foot into management and the other into the engineering team. You will act as a middle-ground between project expectations and development tasks, and you will be responsible for the success of projects, spending 30% of your time writing code, and the other 70% managing projects.

Which skills do you need to have in order to be successful as a Tech Lead?
As Tech Lead you are responsible for one or multiple business areas in Tech, and you also share responsibility for training, guiding and mentoring engineers on their team. But the most important skills are sincere empathy, crystal clear communication, and technical excellence. These skills are equally weighted as it is the Tech Lead's job to foster an environment where everyone on the team is able to effectively cooperate and communicate with each other.

Solve complex problems, often touching many systems and sometimes different technologies.
Work comfortably with web backend technologies and scaling them to handle constantly evolving traffic patterns (experience developing in PHP Laravel or .NET Core is preferred but not required)
Mentor technical skills, sharing knowledge with team members
Future proof and follow eloomi standards when crafting, building and deploying solutions
Communicate clearly, both speaking and in writing (the office’s language is English)

Your role as People manager
The Tech Lead's job is to support, develop and coach the Tech team. Your job consists of the following responsibilities:
Work closely with the Product Manager, setting reasonable expectations around deadlines, and being clear when projects are going off-track
Break up projects into digestible tasks, to tie those tasks to iterative deliverables, and to keep track of those deliverables
Provide uninterrupted work time to your team, and to act as the guardian against any potential blockers and distractions
Be available to team members as they execute their tasks
Ensure your team is sufficiently supplied with work at all times
Performing diligent code reviews, first-pass QA, and contribute to the code-base where possible
Drive technical quality by being involved in technical and architectural decisions
Occasionally work with other departments, such as Operations, Customer Service, and Marketing
