We are looking for an experienced iOS developer to help make buying and selling 2nd-hand easy and secure.
You will be our second person on the iOS team and you will work in close cooperation with our designer, product manager, CTO and fellow developers on other platforms and the backend. You will be pitching ideas, writing code, challenging backend API’s and identifying and fixing any issues our users are experiencing.
Our product team is small, so focus is to keep things simple on all levels. The iOS app currently uses a mix of MVVM and programmatic Auto Layout, but recently our minimum deployment target was bumped to iOS 13, paving the way to start embracing SwiftUI.
We have a clear high-level roadmap for 2022, but many important details are missing. This leaves great room for you to set your mark on the journey ahead.
To give you a sense of what kinds of tasks and features you will be building, here is a list of some of our recent accomplishments:
Transformed the entire platform from a primarily communication platform into a fully transactional platform with integrated shipping and escrow payments
An e-wallet (we are a fintech!)
Changed the branding of Tradono to Trendsales after platform merge
Migrated over all users from the old Trendsales platform to the new Trendsales
Introduced split payments
Created a fully customizable main feed
We are looking for a candidate who knows the ins and outs of the iOS platform and the surrounding tools and is ready for similar challenges as listed above.
We don't expect you to know all answers up front, but having a strong understanding of software development, troubleshooting and teamwork will take you far.
You pay attention to the Apple ecosystem and Swift project.
We expect you to help set goals and execute them and we will offer our strongest support in helping you achieve those goals.
You might have a computer science background or similar, or you might not. What is most important to us, is your abilities and your commitment.
You can expect a thoughtful onboarding, where you will be gradually introduced to new areas of the tech stack and features. However, be ready to commit code early and see it go live to hundreds of thousands of users.
Every 4 weeks we start a new development cycle (3 weeks of focused work +1 week of cool-down). In each cycle, we form small teams (1-3 people) that will work together on one big project or a collection of smaller projects throughout the cycle. The 3 weeks of focused work is long enough to take on relatively big projects and short enough to avoid "forever-projects". The following cool-down week is an opportunity for all team members to wind down, fix up something, make that refactoring you always think about, reflect and prepare for the next cycle.
Our office is based in central Copenhagen, Denmark but this position is also open to remote work from anywhere in Denmark as long as you can come to the office 1-2 times per month.
