The BikeBuddies is a start-up whose vision is to revolutionize the way bikes are recycled in Denmark. The BikeBuddies is looking for a like-minded, ambitious and hard-working talent to join the team as a co-founder.

Your role

In joining The BikeBuddies as a co-founder, you'll be offered equity shares and obtain a leading role in growing the business to new heights. Alongside Alexander, the owner of The BikeBuddies, you'll become an integral part of the business' daily operations as well as planning, executing and validating new business ideas and opportunities.

The first round of funding

The BikeBuddies has already gone to market and proven that there's proof of concept and now it's time to take the business to the next level. This year we raised DKK109.000 through an EU fund, Innovations Distrikt Sjælland, with the project: Cirkulær Cykeløkonomi. Through this project, we have not only raised funds, but we have also established a sustainable business model.

Current market focus: B2C

To this date, The BikeBuddies offering has been primarily focused on targeting the B2C market. The target group has been international students and expats in the area of Greater Copenhagen. In the summer of 2020, our operations expanded to Roskilde as well.

Apart from our B2C operations, there's a lot of interesting things in the pipeline for The BikeBuddies. Currently, we are exploring and validating bike solutions/offerings for the B2B & B2G market.

Expanding to the B2B market

On the B2B market, we have tailored a new concept of recycled 'company bikes' for eco-conscious companies. The company pay a monthly subscription for the number of our signature company-bikes they want in their fleet. That way companies can offer their employees a 'green transportation' alternative when going to e.g. meetings during the working hours. This concept is currently being tested in collaboration with the Danish lawyer firm TVC.

Expanding to the B2G market

On the B2G market, we are in contact with several municipalities on Zealand that has shown interest in a form of partnership with The BikeBuddies. Partnership opportunities include the possibility of acquiring discarded bikes from their recycling stations (increase supply) but also as a potential sales channel.
