Join our team and shape the future of bike sensors and advanced technology on bikes. Create the future of bike technology. Follow your vision and be part of the team that makes bikes more fun to ride and bike users more fit.
Good with a 3D CAD tool?
We’re looking for a mechanical design engineer student, intern, or part-timer. A passion for bikes and cycling is not a requirement, but definitely an advantage to join our small team. If you want to work with the integration of leading-edge technology in bikes, then we want to work with you.
A major part of the job is doing light design work to make prototypes for new and innovative sensor concepts. You work side-by-side with the electronics designer to make a perfect integration.
The big new and promising market for us is e-bike sensors. The goal is to combine smarter electronics with clever mechanical solutions to beat the existing sensors in this market on cost, performance, and quality parameters.
Learning new things is guaranteed with this job and SYMBION is a great place for expanding your network both professionally and personally. By making e-bikes nicer to ride, you are actually also helping us save the planet by getting more people out of cars and on their bikes :)
Responsibilities:
Independent 3D CAD design work on various sensor concepts
Create presentation renderings
Mechanical assembly and test - on the bikes and in the workshop
Qualifications & Experience:
Familiarity with 3D CAD software is required
Some experience making "things" is a big plus
Understanding of basic manufacturing methods (CNC, 3D printing, injection molding, laser/water cutting etc.) is required
Comfortable in the workshop and with bike maintenance (as in: you fix your own bike)
Language: English is required. Danish is a plus.
As a person:
Solution-oriented with a sense for finding good and easy ways
Structured and detail-oriented
Gets things done
A love of bikes
Practical:
The office is in the SYMBION office park on Østerbro
Full lunch buffet, gourmet coffee, fitness facilities, Friday bar, etc. available
As a small startup, we can be very flexible on most parameters as long as we keep focus on creating real results
Flexibility:
If you want this as a student job (10-20h/week), we are quite flexible with the hours and time off for exams, etc. It is important for us that you succeed both in school and with the work.
Done as an internship, this can be paid or unpaid to match your situation. We can also make it as "virksomhedspraktik" if you are in "A-kasse". It can be full-time or part-time to fit the way it works best for you. We want our interns to get one step closer to getting that "real" job, and judging by the stats we have been good at this so far.
At this point in time, we are unfortunately not ready to offer this as a full-time salaried position. This is planned to change sometime in 2021 as we gain traction and secure more projects with this new sensor technology. Plus: Still being a startup, nothing is static for long here.
Apply:
Simply send a CV and a short note explaining why this would be fun for you. There is no set deadline and we normally process applications on a weekly basis.
