We are looking for an experienced all-round hardware engineer to take a key role in designing and manufacturing Nextfood’s hardware platform. Working directly with the CTO and co-founder, you will invent new mechanical solutions, design for 3D printing, integrate sensors, electronics and more. We implement  our hardware and software technology stack in-house, and most of our manufacturing is in-house as well (using 3D printing, laser cutting etc.) which enables rapid agile development of both hardware and software. You have an all-around knowledge of the engineering profession and wide practical experience in mechanical, electronics, and/or firmware programming, along with your main field.. You naturally take ownership, are capable of working independently and apply a structured, data-driven approach, and you are passionate about using technology to make a difference for a better food system.

Main responsibilities:

• Design and implement coming generations of Nextfood’s hardware platform (mechanics, electronics, water systems, etc.)

• Organise and effectuate hardware manufacturing

• Improve and support existing platform generations

• Work with plant growing team and customers to compile system requirements

You:

• Profound practical and theoretical engineering experience with hardware design and implementation of mechanics, electronics, etc. 4+ years of work experience.

• B.Sc. or more in mechanical, electrical, system, manufacturing or similar engineering

• Data-driven, analytical, structured, attention to detail

• Passionate, driven, take ownership, hands-on

• Optional: Experience with sourcing and manufacturing

• Optional: Experience from running operations preferably in technology driven company with hardware products

• Optional: Experience in firmware programming (C/C++)
