Ante is developing the next generation legal research platform and we hope that you are the talented and motivated Machine Learning engineer we are looking for to join our team in Copenhagen. You'll be working alongside skilled and fun colleagues, working with the latest techniques within Natural Language Processing (NLP) and you will have a high degree of responsibility.
Ante is a Danish legal tech startup that provides a research platform for lawyers to find and analyze case law. “Well that doesn’t sound that revolutionary”, you might say. And you’re not wrong. The difference is that we’ve automated the entire editorial process for new cases using Machine Learning and NLP and essentially built a platform and search engine that can scale to millions of documents.
We are a group of developers and data scientists who’ve found out how to turn boring stuff, like editing legal cases, into interesting stuff like software and Machine Learning. We started as a one-man army in late 2017 and grew to a team of 4 in early 2019. In January 2020 we raised an investment through Karnov Group, and joined forces with our biggest local competitor with the common goal of building the next generation of legal research software. Since the investment we have been growing and we are now a tight knit team of 6 developers/data scientists/salesmen/product managers. It’s time to accelerate our development and that’s where you come in!
You’ll play a key part in our startup’s exciting growth journey. Your main responsibility will be to work alongside our Lead Data Scientist to help improve our automated machine learning pipeline.
Our key feature is taking legal case documents in pdf-format, extracting the text-layer and applying a multitude of pre-trained NLP algorithms to extract relevant data..
The core of the system is a Python NLP library developed in-house, utilizing the standard Python Data Science stack like ScikitLearn, SciPy and numpy as well as more NLP-specific libraries like NLTK and FastText. This library is implemented as a series of microservices acting as our pipeline. Your role will be to further develop and improve this system alongside our Lead Data Scientist.
You’ll work closely together with the rest of the team of Software Engineers and Product Managers, thereby being part of a strong, creative and cross-functional product team, designing, building and testing new products, services and infrastructure.
