VOID International Animation Film Festival (VOID IAFF) is building a new team to bring to life the 6th edition of the festival in February 2021. Hence VOID IAFF is seeking one to two film programmer(s).
The programmer(s) will help program film screenings, including both feature and short films, premieres, Q&A, and other programs.
Additionally, the programmer will help to conceive, develop, and implement the artistic vision and curatorial profile of the festival in consultation with Festival Director and Festival Manager and the Head of Programming.
This is a year-round, part-time, unpaid position with starting time as soon as possible.
The programmer(s) will be an integral part of a team that produces a kick-ass international event.
Responsibilities:
Provide support to the Head of Programming in managing the annual process of programming
Scout, select, and secure feature films
Negotiate agreements with filmmakers and distributors
Oversee and support the collection of short films and relevant marketing material
Screen of the short film submissions and compilation of short film programs
Support the Communication & PR by providing key info on the titles in the program
Prepare and/or write film synopsis for printed program and website
Track programming budget
Participate in strategic planning, including developing and meeting annual budget and audience attendance goals
Keep track of tech requirements and screening formats
Notify selected filmmakers
Notify declined film submissions through the FilmFreeway internal email system
Prepare, assign, and/or write film synopsis
Provide an annual review of the Festival programming
Attend Annecy 2020 (if coronavirus allows)
Complementary tasks:
Help run and promote VOID IAFF´s Call for Entry to the film community around the world
Help organize and oversee a pre selection committee for short films.
Develop criteria for film selection
Organize database of filmmakers who have submitted films
Help promote VOID IAFF, its events and programs
At times, offer content for VOID IAFF social media and website
Support the selection of festival’s jurors

About YOU
Able to work independently, efficiently and under deadline pressure
Excellent oral and written communications skills in both English and Danish
Detail-oriented, organized, motivated
Curious, collaborative, adaptable
+1 year experience as a Programmer or Assistant/Associate Programmer in film festivals
Familiar with film and video formats and film production
Interested in animation films, independent filmmaking
Like to stay current on trends and titles within the independent film industry
About VOID IAFF
VOID Copenhagen is a non-profit organization that every year arranges the VOID International Animation Film Festival in Copenhagen, DK.
The festival is a 10-day long celebration of independent filmmaking in animation and every year it takes charge of fostering diversity in animation by bringing to the big screen the weird, the mind-blowing, the poetic, the unexpected.
The festival born in 2015 has since then been run completely by volunteers who share the same strong passion for the art and craft of animation and ambition to showcase more world-class animated storytelling.
