At Blue Lobster, we are changing the way you buy seafood. We empower small-scale, sustainable fishermen to sell their fish directly to consumers. Through our platform, we bring the freshest fish to consumers within hours of it being caught, and are able to keep prices at a competitive level, while paying fishermen 2-4 times what they usually earn. We are selling to high-end restaurants in Copenhagen, and are getting ready to scale.

We are not an eCommerce company. We’re building our marketplace with bespoke apps and logistics technology to perfectly solve the challenges of fishermen and restaurants. And this is your chance to join a growth startup at the forefront of sustainability technology.

Your responsibilities:

• Build the back end for the fishermen and restaurants experience

• Implement and optimise our marketplace matching algorithms

• Design and build our logistics technology

• Select and implement technologies to enable us to scale

• Work with the product team to review user feedback

• Work with our app developer to prioritise the technical roadmap

You have experience with the following:

• Professional experience building APIs e.g. with Node.js, Rails, or Django (you'll choose the technology you know best which fits)

• Automating operational processes

• Technical architecture for complex systems

• Independent thinker who enjoys working with a cross-functional team

• Cloud platforms - Heroku / Google Cloud / AWS etc

• Agile/Scrum development process

• Bonus: some familiarity with Firebase (our current back end)
