At Labster we are dedicated to empowering the next generation of scientists to change the world. Our mission is to develop fully interactive software that makes learning both fun, engaging and effective, and to make it accessible to as many science students as possible (see short trailer here). Since 2012, our simulations were played over 1000000 times and each semester 280 universities and institutions around the globe is using them to enhance their teaching programs.

Your Mission

As a Simulation Director, you will help our amazing team in creating the next generation of 3D education solutions and expand our chemistry catalogue. As the ideal candidate, you are imaginative and creative, and you have excellent writing and communication skills. You can't do everything yourself though, so being a team player and collaborating with the rest of the team is essential.

Your Profile

You are definitely a bit of a perfectionist, but no worries, that is an advantage! Changing the world is not an easy task, and those details are what make the difference. Fast learning and being able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment are great qualities to have as Labster is growing fast, and we’re all part of shaping the journey. Also, organizational skills are crucial for your success. You will be juggling very different types of tasks, and you must be able to prioritize and make data-driven decisions.

Your responsibilities

• Writing the “simulation flow” for new simulations to expand our chemistry catalogue, using your imagination to design virtual experiences for high-school and university students, while ensuring that story line, theory and quiz questions all comes together (it's almost like writing a movie script).

• Support Content Developers during the development of the simulations, and ensuring amazing results. Details matter when you are aiming to change the world!

• Working closely with our 3D Art team on how the simulations and their content should look, and assisting in designing of 3D animations that will help students understand science at the atomic level.

• Ensuring that the content of our simulations is scientifically accurate, the flow through the simulation is intuitive, and the quality meets high standards, with an emphasis on multimedia learning to make students “learn while having fun”.

Requirements

• Strong passion for science and education.

• You have a degree in chemistry, preferably with a focus on organic chemistry.

• You possess excellent written and spoken English skills, close to native- level.

• You possess solid and proven project management experience.

• You have a tech-savvy mindset that will allow you to quickly learn all the tools and processes we are using in the development process.

• You are highly effective while working in a remote and distributed environment.

• Being able to motivate yourself and others.

• You have experience within science communication or science education.

• You are truly interested in technology and multimedia.
