At the time of investment, target companies typically have commercial revenues of 3+ meur. They invest in fast-growing software companies with strong international growth ambitions.
The Venture fund was established in 2001 by Erik Hagen and Jostein Vik. Since then, Viking Ventures has participated in more than 200 funding rounds, made around 50 investments and over 25 successful exits.
Viking Ventures’ investments amount to over NOK 2000 million. They have 300 meur under management.
The company’s ideas are presented to possible investors and they can choose to invest from 1 million NOK or more. The investments are made based on whether or not the investors can see profitmaking by investing in your company.
Viking Ventures takes an active approach to their investments. As an active minority investor, they aim to provide an outside perspective through mentoring, guiding and coaching to help you succeed.
Erik Hagen – Co-founder and Managing Partner
Erik holds an MSc in Computer Science from the Norwegian Institute of Technology and has an MBA from INSEAD, France. He has a background from McKinsey & Company, Netcom, Schibsted Nett and Scandinavia Online. He also chairs the board of Nordic Venture Network.

Jostein Vik – Co-founder and Partner
Jostein holds an MSc in Business from the Norwegian Business School. Jostein has a background from business development and M&A in Carlsberg Breweries, Lilleborg, Orkla Media and Orkla ASA. He is currently on the board of directors on the Norwegian Venture Capital Association.
