Picterus is an app under development designed to monitor jaundice in newborns. Untreated jaundice in newborns is responsible for more than 100,000 deaths and a substantial number of permanent brain damages each year. More than three quarters of these deaths occur in the poorest regions of the world, in sub-Saharan Africa and south Asia. Cheap treatment is available through e.g. sunlight, but the diagnostic devices in use today cost around 10,000 dollars, making them practically unavailable in low-resource settings.

In the Nordics we produce high quality alcohol beverages. Spirits we are utterly proud of.  Now it's due for someone to blend these products with cow's milk, add classic Nordic berries and fruits, and create a whole new series of Premium Cream Liqueurs for the International market.  In contrary to Irish cream which is based on whiskey, the Nordic Cream are going to be based on traditional Nordic spirits, like the aquavit. In a typical Fjording Nordic Cream recipe you'll find aquavit/vodka/fruit spirits, cream, honey/sugar or other sweetening, and then juice from berries and fruits from the Nordic fauna. Not just aromas and concentrates - the real deal. It shall be as local, genuine and organic as possible. Except from the sugar we'll be looking for the ingredients in our nearby surroundings.

BR designs and creates purpose-targeted, physical devices, as well as supporting software systems, which collect data using a range of sensors and/or disseminate, analyze and visualize information. BR has a free consulting branch, where employees are free to consider and accept projects of their own choosing. Additionally, BR dedicates part of its resources for pure research purposes, annually publishing design notes and papers to conferences (NordiCHI 2014, NOKOBIT 2015, NordiCHI 2016) and collaborating with the local university in defining and supervising master theses related to its in-house products and research.
