Hint Technology

Just living on earth these last couple of years has been exhausting and guess what, spending 100 hours just trying to find something to watch is not really what we are in the mood for at the end of yet another day in covid/war/climate crisis-times or any time for that matter. Streaming platforms are undeserving their users' need for a fast and uncomplicated path to discovery. Disney+, Apple TV+, NBC Universal’s Peacock, Warner Media’s HBO Max were all launched between November 2019 and May 2020, paving the way for what media calls the ‘Streaming War’. Needless to say the competition has become tougher over the last couple of years. In order to attract new users the content on each respective platform doesn’t seem to be the main trigger for people anymore, but rather the platform's algorithmic technology. Meaning how the content is organised, how accessible it is and the way it is presented on the platform. These algorithms are also called a ‘sociotechnical process’ by scientists and have over the last decade emerged as a crucial part of shaping our culture and personal taste through complex relationships between human and non-human players. We spend hours of our lives scrolling through these different platforms trying to find something we’d like to watch. Research suggests we spend 100 hours per year for an average user to be exact, only on Netflix. That's a total of over 21 billion hours per year. 21 billion hours in turn is 2,4 million years. Our first app is in the works and will help users figure out their own taste as well as recommend things to watch based on their own preferences, without overwhelming them in a sea of options. So, will the future of streaming require us to scroll and jump in between platforms in the same way as we do today? Not if we get to decide! We believe in a scroll-free world and Hint will provide not just one way to deal with this but many.

Spect8

Spect8 is a norwegian tech startup with a mission to help sports organizations, pro-athletes and sponsors that don’t have enough time, capacity, or the necessary skills to reach their potential in growing fan engagement and commercial value. Due to the power of association among consumers, brands allocate an increasing amount of their advertising budgets towards sports teams and athletes. To measure the value of a sponsorship, sponsors rely on manual measurements and expensive consulting services. At the same time, athletes, clubs, and federations are left with few resources to decide what their commercial value is, and often forfeit revenue (and funding for their sport) by underselling their commercial value. To solve this problem, we have developed a tool called Foqus. Foqus is an easy-to-use machine learning tool created for sports teams and individual athletes to determine their commercial value for sponsorships, and for brands to manage and measure multiple agreements. We are currently working with Norsk Toppfotball, sports associations, clubs and and several brands, and are off to a good start to reach our goal of creating a new industry standard for how sponsorship value is created, measured, and driven. The existing team consists of three business developers with expertise in strategy, marketing, sponsorship, data and analysis. In addition, we have associated development teams with both front-end, back-end and database expertise. We have recently become a part of StartupLab's Accelerator program, are supported by Innovation Norway and have ambitions to scale our business both nationally and internationally in the coming years. We therefore wish to expand our team with a skilled developer who also wants to make a professional career as an entrepreneur. The CTO will have the overall responsibility for the further development and scaling of our core product, Foqus, as well as the development of new tools and concepts going forward.

TOY2 is a toy brand focused on products that allow children (and families) to connect their toys and get much more usage value out of the toys they already have. A.k.a. upcycle the children's toys and extend the lifetime and relevance of the toys. And not least - provide new possibilities with and capabilities of the toys. Our product line are TOY2 Track Connectors that connect bricks from DUPLO, Hubelino or similar with wooden tracks from BRIO, IKEA, VIGA and similar. See toy2.com for more details. And, Slopes & Arches that are used for creative play together with Track Connectors. We want to reduce waste, induce children (and parents) to play more and keep the toys challenging and interesting across age differences. We want to create more innovative products and concepts that create new usage and possibilities from existing toys. We’ve set the goal of becoming the #1 platform for female golfers globally. WHAT_ A social platform to connect people based on common passions, reduce barriers of meeting and increase IRL activities accessibility. TEAM_ We are three full time students each enrolled on bachelors in fields of Data Science, Computer Science in Copenhagen, Denmark. WHY_ The SDG target that we are focusing on solving is loneliness which is second most important metric for life expectance only overruled by smoking tobacco. It’s a pressing issue for all individuals, but more so for young people challenged with anxiety, depression and eating disorders are increasing like never before. According to studies ( Holt-Lunstad et al., 2010 ) & ( Julianne Holt-Lunstad et al., 2017 ) lacking social connection carries a great risk that is comparable, and in many cases, exceeds that of other well-accepted risk factors, including smoking up to 15 cigarettes per day, obesity, physical inactivity, and air pollution Every individual on earth must have access to reducing experiences of loneliness and increasing highly personal and social experiences to be remembered in their lives. Calibre Social solution guides the fostering of meaningful platonic friendships and memorable life experiences. Making IRL social and experiences more accessible. HOW_ We are making IRL activities as accessable as possible and thereby not following the traditional ‘doomscrolling business model'' within the social networking industry.
