ZynexGroup is a Danish company based at Incuba, Åbogade 15, Aarhus. We place a customer-owned battery cabinet (BESS) at factories and industrial sites that already have a grid connection (existing 400 V AC three-phase). ZynexGroup operates the battery in the ancillary services market – frequency regulation that helps keep the power grid stable – and the customer gets paid. Because the battery uses the existing connection, the project does not have to join Energinet's queue for new grid connections, unlike stand-alone battery parks. The problem: Denmark needs far more flexible capacity to balance a grid with more and more wind and solar, but new grid connections for battery parks are stuck in long queues.
