Africa Reframed

Online marketplace for African imagery - Powered by online learning. Africa is rising and a visual reframing of the continent is emerging. A reframing crafted by African content creators, telling Africa's story of change. At Africa Reframed we connect a community of African photographers to the world’s leading companies and organizations to create and promote captivating imagery and bespoke projects that propel new storytelling from the African continent. Imagery in the Africa Reframed imagebank has been used by the worlds leading organizations such as: Gates Foundation, UN, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Pfizer, Ernst & Young, Spotify, NBC, Yahoo, Sitecore, Exxon, Cambridge University Press, Hearst, Condé Nast, Lloyds bank, Europe- an Investment Bank, Shell, AOL, ABC, NEC, CNBC, KPMG, Discovery, VISA, Deloitte, Accenture, Ogilvy, UPS, Viacom, Pearson, Barclays, BBC, Axel Springer, British Council, M&C Saatchi, ASUS, Del Monte, Time inc., RTL, Virgin, McKinsey, Airtel, Guardian, Uber, Orange, 3M, HSBC, Samsung, The World Bank and many more. We are looking for investors sharing our vision of Africa Reframed as a value-driven, profitable business that strives to alter the global community’s perception of the African continent while also building sustainable job opportunities for photographers across Africa. Alongside its sister organization, Commerce & Culture, Africa Reframed has managed an array of long-term projects with leading contemporary visual artists globally and organized photo exhibitions with more than 100.000 paying visitors across 3 continents. Among these, the largest exhibition to date with African photography in northern Europe. SDGs: Quality education and decent work and economic growth, SDGs 4 and 8, are an integrated part of the Africa Reframed business model. When the United Nations In 2015 was launching the SDGs with Project Everyone, they did so with a campaign to share the global goals with 7 billion people in 7 days. This happened via global broadcasts, outdoor advertising campaigns, cinema ads, mobile partnerships, and more. Because of the above, Images from our program were among the officially chosen for the campaign and were singled out by the global campaign team as good education and economic growth in action. Misson: Most of the imagery we encounter from the African continent tends to either depict the beautiful scenery and wildlife or scenes of poverty, war, and desperation. While these indeed are bona fide aspects and challenges, Africa is also a continent characterized by immense growth, varied opportunities, and not least, change. The mission of Africa Reframed is to capture and contribute to the spurring of this change by a visual reframing of the continent. A reframing that reflects African enterprise, innovation, and everyday life. Africa Reframed exists to create and promote this new imagery in the belief that by changing the visuals, we can help change the conversation. Thus an inherent part of Africa Reframed’s DNA, which is also mirrored in the name of the company, is to be a catalyst for the way the world looks at the African continent. The wish to illustrate the real Africa and thus to spur optimism and hope around its future makes the company strongly value-driven, and it is believed that such a shared view will help bind contributors, clients, and other stakeholders close together. In 2020 Africa Reframed received an investment from Innovation fund Denmark and was selected as a finalist for the SDG Tech Award.

STRØM Bikes

STRØM Bikes is an innovative eBike company based in Copenhagen on a mission to make urban commuting more sustainable and convenient. We believe the eBike is an essential part of the transition to a green urban transportation system. Our concept is Danish design and high quality at affordable prices. We design, produce and sell our own unique eBikes. By focusing on direct online trade, and eliminating all expensive intermediaries, we get the opportunity to provide high quality eBikes at affordable prices. In this regard we have launched all of our bikes with succes through crowdfunding.

Stori

Stori is a fast growing Copenhagen based company in the e-commerce interior design space. Known for securing 2.5m DKK in funding in the danish version of Shark Tank called Løvens Hule. We are not simply another multibrand webshop looking to compete with existing stores. Stori is an extensive interior design univers that you do not only visit to find your favorite brands, but also to seek inspiration through our online interior design magazine, and for perks through our membership program, Club Stori. Stori has also become a brand of its own by releasing our first ever products and designs. This is only the beginning of our private label strategy, and we are excited to design and launch our own interior collections for the masses. We are on a mission to create the ultimate destination for everything interior design related.

Lalatoys

Lalatoys is a new startup, building a sharing economy retail service for children’s toys. The concept is simple: you sign up and pick the toys you want to play with. Whenever the toy becomes needless for your child, send it back and get something else. Billions of dollars are put into the children's toy market yearly, and of these, millions of unwanted toys are send to landfills every year. What is even worse is that a high amount of children's toys are produced from non-biodegradable plastic. By swapping instead of shopping, we can let our children play in a more eco-friendly way. We launched in Marts 2021 and spend more than a year to adapt and develop the concept to fit the market. Now we have had +1000 subscribers and expect to grow steady through the next year! Aside for daily operation and development of the platform and its features which is essential for us to be a scalable business. The idea started, when I, Dinesan, became father for the first time last year. We bought a lot of toys for our daughter (and still do), but in the end it showed that most of the toys our daughter didn't play with after a very short period - it was quite frustrating that we spend money of something, we either would loose money on reselling and would pile up together with the rest. SHUP er verdens nemmeste hostede webshop løsning. Det har aldrig været nemmere og hurtigere at starte en webshop op, end nu! De mest populære hostede løsninger til at åbne en webshop er WooCommerce, ShopOrama eller Dandomain (og resten af BlueGroup) - og det er virkelig komplicerede løsninger som kræver tekniske skills og lang tung onboarding. Eneste seriøse bud på disse løsninger er Shopify og Wix. Dog er de efterhånden blevet så komplicerede pga. mange krav fra millioner af brugere og samtidig er de blevet dyre og tilbyder ikke samme service niveau som tidligere. SHUP kommer til at ændre dette ved helt bevidst at være en simpel løsning målrettet de 80% som ikke har krav til avancerede analyser, komplekse indstillinger, udvidede integrationer osv. SHUP kan "all the basics", som typisk er nok for en stor målgruppe. GoShup!

Hidden Dimsum is a family owned business where we currently have a restaurant, bar and a takeaway shop. We have high demand of our dimsum and a lot of our fans is from all over the world and across Denmark

Luxreaders.dk

We, at Luxreaders, are a young, international, small (but prosperous!) Danish company with our roots in Copenhagen, Denmark. Since 2018, we help people read! With reading glasses as the initial core product, Luxreaders was eventually founded with the ambition of creating a platform, that would transform the way people buy their reading glasses! ... Wait, what? Reading glasses? Yep, you read that correct ;-) And later on, the assortment has expanded to blue light glasses and sunglasses. So how and why do we sell glasses online? Our experience within the optical industry has revealed to us that the market is highly driven by purchasing reading glasses through gas stations, supermarkets and such. These businesses, to a large extent, focus on low prices, high margins and aren't interested in customization when it comes to consumers personal fit, style and quality. We want to change that! Our passion for minimalist, Scandinavian design is the key element expressed through our tailored eyewear. All our glasses are designed in Denmark, where we devote our work to unite new trends with traditional and classic designs. Luxreaders strives to create an experience that is effortless and hassle-free. No more queues, no more settling for cheap over-the-counter glasses that never last or fit well. Although our company is online, we still cherish the aspect of consumers having a personal shopping experience with us.

MAAMI Home

We are a company founded in Porto, Portugal where we are not only designing the elegant minimalistic furniture but also have a factory to produce it straight after the design is finalised. MAAMI HOME- each series is designed to have everything that really matters. For that reason, there is no place to the superficial, to the decorative without function. The materials’ choice is aligned with a function and extreme sensitivity, resulting in design objects with a deep purpose. Marble stone, from various origins, is the main matter in our work. Historically associated with grandeur, marble is integrated into objects that demonstrate the immense versatility of the stone - strong but elegant, rough but sophisticated, subtle but impressive.

Myselfie er Danmarks førende udlejer af selfie-kameraer til små og store fester, messer, udstillinger og andre events. Et Myselfie kamera er et morsomt samlingspunkt til enhver fest og giver kunderne unikke minder fra de særlige begivenheder i livet, som bryllupper, fødselsdage, konfirmationer osv. Myselfie er en spændende iværksættervirksomhed i stor udvikling. I 2018 fik Myselfie stor succes i tv-programmet ”Løvens Hule” og sikrede sig investering fra alle 5 ”løver”. Investorerne følger virksomhedens udvikling tæt og har bl.a. bistået under Covid-19 krisen. Virksomheden er nu for alvor klar til at skalere op og udvide internationalt. Grundlaget for udviklingen er den unikke, flersprogede IT-platform, der holder styr på salg, udlejninger, billeder og meget andet.

We are an IT company with great passion to launch our first product. We have been working hard on the development of our idea and now we are going to bring it into reality. Our first product is a Marketplace salon App that will connect users to salons. Moreover, will open new opportunities for start-ups, small, medium and bigger salons. When we surveyed the market, we see the great need of such an app that allows people to book their appointments with salons based on their performance, price, availability, with just 1 click and give people wider choice to choose the best stylist. As a company, we took this challenge to enter into Nordic Market .because we believe in our idea and we believe that we as a company can grow from smaller size to medium size company in no far future. For the salons, it will be perfect platform that provides them everything related to their business in just an App. To see the performance of their salon as a whole and track loop holes, and make strategy based on the data and improve the performance. Put great offers through our great marketing tools and get more leads and more customers. Be connected and manage their business wherever they are in the world. Salons would be our paid customers by using our subscription model. Whereas for the general user the app will be for free to use. Our main target audience will be salons but at the same time, our target group will be all general users from all forms of life (female, males young, old). Mission: As an IT Company, our mission is to connect people and businesses when there is need for it. Provide small businesses an opportunity to grow bigger. Our mission is to provide such a platform where all salon and beauty related businesses could come together under one umbrella and grow. Verisure Watch

Verisure Watch is a corporate start-up bringing modern technology to the classic neighborhood watch community. Verisure Watch aims to become the data-driven for home- and house owners within safety and security. We are powered by the largest private security company in Europe, Verisure, and operate in arms-length from the regular business. We are piloting in Denmark but have global scope.

Rista ApS

Rista is an app based company, where you can get one cup of coffee every day for 129 DKK a month, in more than 25 stores around Copenhagen. Copenhagen has in the past three years been elected the most expensive city in the world to buy coffee, with a stunning price of around 42 DKK per cup. While most of the bigger coffee chains strive under these conditions and extend their market share, many local cafés and restaurants suffer. This is due to high competition, and low customer loyalty, where the big chains win on their great locations, and huge marketing budgets. Rista is a benfrit to be apart off, if you buy more than 3 cups of coffee a month. We believe that with we can change the coffee industry, and give a helping hand to the local restorations.
