At Nextfood, we are reshaping the plant-based food supply chain from farm to fork with large scale indoor farms combined with mini-farms in restaurants, catering, retail etc. Our computer controlled decentralised farm network grows deliciously fresh, locally produced, pesticide-free greens year-round to the benefit of flavour, health and climate. 1 m2 Nextfood farm corresponds to 200 m2 outdoor farm land and saves 98% water, more than 75% fertiliser and electrifies energy consumption. In turn addressing one of humanity’s greatest challenges: A sustainable high quality food supply for a rapidly growing urbanised population.

Electricity Maps provides actionable electricity data for more than 200 regions. We help businesses more effectively reduce their emissions, and enable products and services to differentiate their offerings by empowering end-users to be more carbon-aware. As wind and solar production fluctuate throughout the day, this information needs to be dynamic and updated in real-time. As this real-time information about the physical origin of electricity will be scrutinized and challenged by many parties, the effort has to be collaborative, open, and transparent. This is what motivated the creation of Electricity Maps. It started as a simple real-time data visualization in June 2016 and turned into a comprehensive data platform with high scientific integrity. More than 40,000 people use our app on a daily basis and market leaders like Google and Microsoft, are using our API for extensive projects in order to reach their climate goals and help their users take action against climate change. Our goal: a truly decarbonized electricity system. To get there, we will organize the world's electricity information, and use it to drive the transition toward a truly decarbonized electricity system.

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges humanity is facing. Solar power is expected to play a big role in reducing the use of fossil fuels. We make solar power plants more efficient and cost competitive, by increasing the energy production. At Startak we design and manufacture control systems for solar trackers used in large solar photovoltaic plants, to increase the energy production by 10-20% (depending on latitude). We provide our customers with a simple to use, modern and reliable hardware and software solution that is designed to give you peace of mind and control for the lifetime of your solar plant.

Enduro Genetics is a startup committed to improving large-scale fermentations, closing the scale-up gap to make bioproducts possible at any scale. We offer our proprietary platform Enduro Sense that enhances large-scale fermentation by optimising population heterogeneity. Enduro Sense is a seamlessly integrated, self-selecting technology that addicts microbial cells to production and therefore eliminates low-producing cells. Mission: We provide real-time and accurate measurement solutions to optimize environmental and chemical processes to achieve a greener, cleaner world. Vision: Making mass spectrometry accessible to everyone for any test environment. Description: Using our proprietary microchip inlet technology, we are able to bring mass spectrometers out of the laboratory and into the real-world. We already provide benchtop analysis systems for electrochemistry and battery research which we sell to research institutions around the world. We have tested and are currently developing the commercial version of an online industrial sensor version of our system for real-time measurements in biogas production facilities and wastewater treatment plants.

We back bold entrepreneurs in their earliest stages and help shape the foundation of their aspirations. We classify investments into three categories; BUILD, SCALE, and FOMO. Building cases are companies that are so early that the company might not even be registered with the authorities yet. It’s merely an idea that we need to shape together, right from the beginning. Here we put in lots of hours and enough capital to build a minimum viable product and test the product on the market. If successful, we move to a scale-up phase investing more money and/or raise capital from external investors. SCALE cases are more developed. The first team is there, and they are close to a product-market fit. Fischer Lighting is a sustainable front-runner who has developed a unique circular business model where waste is transformed into new beautiful lamps that make buildings more sustainable and people healthier. In 2023, Fischer Lighting saved more than 53 tons of discarded lamps from being thrown away, and with the concepts ReUse, ReDesign, and ReCreate, unique lighting solutions are created in a beautiful and industrial design that meets all the requirements of a new lighting fixture. In addition to environmental sustainability, social sustainability is also an important part of the concept. Therefore, all the old lamps are separated and assembled by people on the edge of the labor market in Denmark. At the same time, the lamps are equipped with the latest technology, which, among other things, enables circadian lighting, which can stimulate the production of hormones in our body and create better well-being for people in buildings.

Girls' education is an incredibly powerful climate solution due to its stong relationship with child marriage prevention and subsequent delayed motherhood; impacting population growth and lowering consumption-based emissions. 130 million girls in the world's poorest and most climate-vulnerable communities are effectively excluded from education due to poverty. Humanitarian organizations in low-income countries constantly struggle to fundraise and are never able to fully meet the needs of the most marginalized. SoGreen is a startup with a big heart and an even bigger ambition: A world where all girls realise their right to education and climate justice is placed at the heart of all climate action. In collaboration with leading scientists at renowned European research institutions in the field of demography and climate science,* SoGreen has developed a methodology to quantify the climate impact of girls' education in tonnes CO2-equivalent avoided. This allows for the generation of carbon credits (1 ton = 1 carbon credit) which can be sold on the international carbon market to channel climate finance to girls' education. In partnership with FAWEZA, a leading pan-African NGO focusing on girls' education, SoGreen's pilot project is being implemented in Zambia. Over the coming 5 years, the project will ensure a full secondary education for 180 marginalized girls. All carbon credits generated by the project have been sold ex ante to over 30 companies that have ambitious sustainability strategies, which allow for the use of carbon credits in addition to reducing their own emissions.
