We are devoted to accelerating the development and adoption of technologies that can help fight climate change by actively removing CO2 from the atmosphere. The challenge We are emitting 50 Gigatons of CO2 every year, and that needs to be reduced by at least 80%. However, that still leaves 10 Gigatons of CO2, and we need to get all the way to zero. Trees are great, but we need many more solutions as well if we are to get to zero. Currently, most of these are way too expensive (and limited in capacity) for companies to use. We've developed a platform that combines methods and makes it available to every company that wants to compensate their emissions. ZynexGroup is a Danish company based at Incuba, Åbogade 15, Aarhus. We place a customer-owned battery cabinet (BESS) at factories and industrial sites that already have a grid connection (existing 400 V AC three-phase). ZynexGroup operates the battery in the ancillary services market – frequency regulation that helps keep the power grid stable – and the customer gets paid. Because the battery uses the existing connection, the project does not have to join Energinet's queue for new grid connections, unlike stand-alone battery parks. The problem: Denmark needs far more flexible capacity to balance a grid with more and more wind and solar, but new grid connections for battery parks are stuck in long queues.
