ENZIDIA

Enabling the bioindustrial revolution with the fastest enzymes. Many of the hardest climate and environmental problems can be solved through synthetic biology. But biosolutions are held back by the enzyme efficiency bottleneck. The ENZIDIA Enzyme Engineering Platform will address this with 10^4 to 10^7 times higher efficiency than current technologies.

Climate-KIC

EIT Climate-KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) is Europe’s foremost climate innovation initiative. We understand that keeping global temperature rise below 1.5˚C demands unprecedented change. It requires new social dynamics, ways of doing business, capital flows, policymaking, economic models, and new ways of living. That is why our mission is to leverage the power of systems innovation to transform whole places, industries, and value chains by 2030, working across sectors to develop and scale ambitious, mission-led programmes. Established in 2010 and headquartered in Amsterdam, we orchestrate a community of more than 200 organisations including large corporations and SMEs, municipal and regional governments, universities, and research institutes, as well as non-governmental organisations and uncommon actors. Historically, we have been funded by our founder and core funder, the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), but we are currently transitioning to a multi-funder model. EIT Climate-KIC colleagues are based in one of our local offices across Europe or work remotely from home based in one of the countries where we have a branch. We meet at our local offices to exchange and connect and use online collaboration tools work with each other and with our Community. On occasion, we meet in-person as teams, and once per year as an organisation.

Stiesdal

Stiesdal is a young and fast-growing climate technology company. The main purpose of Stiesdal is to develop and commercialize technologies with high impact on climate change mitigation. This purpose is fundamentally rooted in a conviction that more needs to be done to avert catastrophic climate change. We take great pride in our work and in the fact that our solutions make a real difference on a global scale. Currently we have activities in Power-to-X hydrogen production, carbon capture and storage combined with green fuel production, floating offshore wind, and energy storage. We develop, innovate, produce and deliver scalable waste-based building elements and interior products for the professional built environment. The construction industry account for 40% of all waste generated and is the #1 consumer of raw materials globally. The embedded carbon in building materials account for 11% of global carbon emission. At the same time, global floor area is expected to double by 2060. Sustainable building materials will be key to reducing footprint from the construction industry. We need to change the way we build and focus on materials produced from non-virgin materials. We make it possible to accelerate the necessary change towards a reduced use of virgin raw materials in our buildings by developing new earth and climate friendly products and solutions based on waste, biproducts, unused resources, and discarded production. We make it easy for the ones who design and build to choose a waste-based product, for the benefit of the environment, the user and the investor. Our approach is scalable. We are experts in creating valuable upcycled products from scalable sources of waste. We see opportunities, when others see waste. Our know-how drives innovation and product development and shape the products of tomorrow with the waste of today. Loftbolig A/S hjælper boligforeninger og professionelle med at konvertere de mange uudnyttede tørrelofter i København til moderne, miljøvenlige boliger. Vi samarbejder med ledende arkitekter og anvender de nyeste teknologier og materialer for at skabe unikke, miljøvenlige boliger. Loftbolig A/S køber tørreloftet af foreningen og sørger for al papirarbejdet og omdanner tørreloftet til lejligheder med minimalt besvær. IForeningen kan bruge pengene til at renovere taget, sætte opgangen i stand eller tage en tur sydpå - det vælger de selv. Uanset hvad kan foreningen sove trygt om natten. Vi stiller bankgaranti og forsikringer, der dækker selv den værste stormflod og vi insisterer altid på den bedste kvalitet.

Kvasir Technologies

Kvasir is solving one of the most difficult problems in the world; how to replace fossil fuels in the heavy transportation industries. Kvasir has developed and patented a unique process to convert ligno-cellulosic plant biomass (straw, wood, bagasse etc. ) to marine fuel in a simple one step process. The process involves cooking biomass in an alcohol atmosphere under pressure, effectively liquefying the biomass. Were developing our technology in our in-house lab and workshop facilities in Soeborg and are also collaborating with universities in both Denmark and abroad.

Utiligize

The green transition will be expensive. Utiligize makes the only data-driven asset management program that incorporates 2030/2040 EV, battery, wind and solar forecasts into lifetime models for every asset a utility owns. Electric, water, sewage and district heating companies use our software to reduce costs by atl east 25% or increase quality of service (QoS) by 25%. We make the green transition affordable. Our platform consists of three main components: 1. A smartphone app for data collection out in the field. 2. A Cloud backend that creates load and voltage forecasts with and without demand response, plus revenue cap, benchmarking, tariff and QoS optimization. 3. A front-end with system-wide KPIs. MicroChange

We're a hardware deeptech startup consisting of 5 individuals, with a burning desire to improve the environment. We have designed a filtration system, with the purpose of collecting particles such as microplastics and aquatic biomass from seawater, used in production and maritime industries. With our partners, we aim to find solutions for the use of the collected particles.

uMover

The uMover® is a smart and usability-focused 3-wheel electrical vehicle for transporting people over shorter indoor and outdoor distances (0,5-5 km). It has been developed by us, DTU spinout CJ Company IVS, whom have built the uMover® upon a future mobility concept proposed by Continental AG (CAG). The uMover® targets employees who need to travel frequently within shorter distances, enabling them to become more efficient at work by easing their way of travel and reducing their travel time substantially. The uMover® will be a superior work-environment travel solution, as it – due to its smart design – offers the flexible advantages of walking, but with the similar speed and ease as driving a car or a bike. Drawbacks of the solutions in the market today are high prices, space requirements (especially for cars), no compliance with traffic regulations and laws and poor safety control (limiting the indoor application possibilities). Through cooperation with DTU and CAG we have been able to complete a full proof-of-concept and develop several of the unique mechanical components and are now in the detailing phase of the mechanical and electrical construction for a scale-up of the uMover®.
