OwnCity

OwnCity gives people the opportunity to invest and initiate projects, like on Kickstarter, but with energy efficiency projects in their own local community. This enables buildings to reduce energy costs, lower CO2 emissions, and deliver better indoor air quality while increasing community engagement and providing an attractive return for investors.  We are looking to power our platform with an innovative use of blockchain to create transparency and liquidity for everyone involved.

With our patented design, it is our mission to 'invade' that space as much as possible, cut transport costs, and effect a more sustainable transport industry.

The Apple Girl

We’re a biotechnology company creating something new, valuable and useful from what otherwise would be trash. In a circular business model we upcycle food waste into alternative biodegradable materials as a supplier internationally and in DK. In this way we solve a waste management problem. Our unique storytelling and sensuous tactility in Apple Leather really makes an impact with users.  Work for us is also play and we really enjoy ourselves when we’re together making things happen. We love mistakes and in the lab you discover something new every day. There’s always an idea you can follow through and test on.  We all have very different competencies but contribute equally in unique ways to the team research. Weekly workshops with Skylab Ignite and Stardust at DTU are where we grow together. We’re also making brainstorming jam sessions after work. You can look forward to chill music and nights out on the weekends.

HEMBOO

We are HEMBOO: an early stage start-up with the vision of making low emissions, renewable materials the norm in construction. Besides fossil fuels, the production of concrete is the worst emitter of CO2 in the world. However it is the most used material within the construction sector. But not for long: climate legislation is about to make concrete a whole lot more expensive, by introducing a CO2 TAX. This leaves the construction companies with a problem as there is no valid sustainable alternative they can use. HEMBOO offers an easy solution: prefabricated walls for new construction made of hemp and bamboo with a reduction of 80% CO2 emitted compared to the traditionally used concrete walls. BUT the construction industry is very conservative and risk-averse. Therefore getting to market is a long journey. We built our first prototype are now preparing for the second one and are gathering data on the needs of our customers. Our aim is to provide a solution similar enough in prefabrication and installation methods, to make the transition from concrete fast and easy. Our element is designed for large scaled production so that we can have the largest impact. Recently we have received a total of 520.000 dkk in soft funding for product development and are participating in multiple startup support programs so it is full speed ahead! The team behind it all: We are a diverse team of three, Elsa Maria Iuliano, Helena Brandt Rejndrup and Michael Hallam. Helena and Elsa graduated as architectural engineers from DTU while Michael is finishing up his studies in design and entrepreneurship. We started HEMBOO because we are all very passionate about making an environmental impact. As a team we have a lot fun together, while still being productive. We emphasize a friendly environment where we help each other even though everyone has individual responsibilities. Currently looking to expand and we want you to be a part of it! Reach out if you are interested in getting on board. We are particularly interested in commercial, communication and financial competencies. Based in our joint office spaces in the center of Copenhagen and at CBS in Frederiksberg. And yes they do they do have Friday bars :-) Feel free to contact us with any questions! United Nations Youth Association(UNYA) Denmark

UNYA Copenhagen is a volunteer-driven youth organization dedicated to empowering young people to engage with global challenges through the lens of the United Nations’ values and the Sustainable Development Goals. We create an inclusive platform where students and young professionals can learn, collaborate, and take action on issues like climate change, social inequality, peacebuilding, and innovation. We are addressing a clear and growing problem i.e. the disconnect between youth and global institutions. Many young people in Denmark care deeply about sustainability and justice but find it difficult to access meaningful opportunities to participate in international dialogue or contribute to real-world impact. This gap leaves motivated individuals without a channel to apply their energy, creativity, and ideas, while institutions miss out on fresh perspectives and engagement from the very generation that will inherit the future. UNYA Copenhagen bridges this divide by turning global ideals into local action. We organize interactive events, workshops, and panel discussions that make complex global topics accessible and relevant. Our activities are co-created by volunteers from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds who bring their own insights to the table. Through collaboration with universities, NGOs, and public institutions, we connect youth directly with experts and decision-makers, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and agency. What makes UNYA Copenhagen unique is our grassroots approach. We are not just an organization — we are a community that thrives on collective energy and creativity. Every project is designed by young people for young people, ensuring authenticity, inclusivity, and long-term motivation. Our strength lies in our diversity and the genuine commitment of our volunteers, who bring the UN’s global mission to life in a way that feels personal and actionable. The motivation behind UNYA Copenhagen is simple: we believe that youth engagement should not be limited to classrooms or conferences but should become a lived experience. We started this initiative because we wanted to make international dialogue tangible, local, and inspiring. Our team members share a passion for learning, community-building, and positive change — values that drive us to dedicate our time to building something meaningful together. Today, UNYA Copenhagen continues to grow as a platform where ideas turn into impact. We are seeking motivated individuals who want to gain experience in leadership, communication, and project management while contributing to a global cause. By joining The Hub’s Community Program, we hope to reach more passionate volunteers who want to be part of a dynamic network that connects Copenhagen’s youth with the world.

CETO Innovation

CETO Innovation is developing a predictive maintenance solution for district heating networks, combining an in-pipe probe with data-driven failure predictions. Our technology enables early detection of pipeline issues, reducing downtime, maintenance costs, and energy waste while optimizing infrastructure management. We are addressing the challenges of aging district heating infrastructure, where reactive maintenance leads to inefficiencies and unexpected failures. By integrating real-time data analysis with in-pipe diagnostics, we aim to provide a smarter, more sustainable approach to pipeline management.
