STAC's focus is on developing zero emission cooling solutions using water as the refrigerant and our product solutions are made to plug and play replace current cooling chillers using destructive synthetic refrigerants. STAC Technology makes sustainable industrial cooling solutions exclusively using water as the refrigerant. STAC's cooling solutions are designed to be used in multiple applications across a variety of industries. STAC Technology is a hardtech cleantech R&D Engineering company was started in 2016 and has been going through a speedy development since 2020 and is now funded by EIC, European Innovation Council and the commercialization phase in 2024-2027 will be funded by a consortium consisting of EIB, European Investment Bank and others.

uMover

The uMover® is a smart and usability-focused 3-wheel electrical vehicle for transporting people over shorter indoor and outdoor distances (0,5-5 km). It has been developed by us, DTU spinout CJ Company IVS, whom have built the uMover® upon a future mobility concept proposed by Continental AG (CAG). The uMover® targets employees who need to travel frequently within shorter distances, enabling them to become more efficient at work by easing their way of travel and reducing their travel time substantially. The uMover® will be a superior work-environment travel solution, as it – due to its smart design – offers the flexible advantages of walking, but with the similar speed and ease as driving a car or a bike. Drawbacks of the solutions in the market today are high prices, space requirements (especially for cars), no compliance with traffic regulations and laws and poor safety control (limiting the indoor application possibilities). Through cooperation with DTU and CAG we have been able to complete a full proof-of-concept and develop several of the unique mechanical components and are now in the detailing phase of the mechanical and electrical construction for a scale-up of the uMover®.

Cirqle

Plastic waste and single-use packaging is one of the great unsolved problems for our planet. In Denmark, we produce 844KG of household waste annually per person. Most of this packaging is used for food and beverage products and it is an increasingly large environmental challenge. At Cirqle we are driven by our mission to make single-use a thing of the past and make reuse packaging the norm. Reusing packaging reduces the impact, and greatly minimizes the natural resource use of packaging. With our pioneering reuse packaging service and technology platform, we make reuse a reality for companies in the food and beverage industry. We are already breaking new ground with our meal-kit service, but the sky's the limit when it comes to reuse packaging. With partners we cover the full supply chain from packaging production and software development to sanitation and logistics making sustainability the easy choice for our customers.

HEMBOO

We are HEMBOO: an early stage start-up with the vision of making low emissions, renewable materials the norm in construction. Besides fossil fuels, the production of concrete is the worst emitter of CO2 in the world. However it is the most used material within the construction sector. But not for long: climate legislation is about to make concrete a whole lot more expensive, by introducing a CO2 TAX. This leaves the construction companies with a problem as there is no valid sustainable alternative they can use. HEMBOO offers an easy solution: prefabricated walls for new construction made of hemp and bamboo with a reduction of 80% CO2 emitted compared to the traditionally used concrete walls. BUT the construction industry is very conservative and risk-averse. Therefore getting to market is a long journey. We built our first prototype are now preparing for the second one and are gathering data on the needs of our customers. Our aim is to provide a solution similar enough in prefabrication and installation methods, to make the transition from concrete fast and easy. Our element is designed for large scaled production so that we can have the largest impact. Recently we have received a total of 520.000 dkk in soft funding for product development and are participating in multiple startup support programs so it is full speed ahead! The team behind it all: We are a diverse team of three, Elsa Maria Iuliano, Helena Brandt Rejndrup and Michael Hallam. Helena and Elsa graduated as architectural engineers from DTU while Michael is finishing up his studies in design and entrepreneurship. We started HEMBOO because we are all very passionate about making an environmental impact. As a team we have a lot fun together, while still being productive. We emphasize a friendly environment where we help each other even though everyone has individual responsibilities. Currently looking to expand and we want you to be a part of it! Reach out if you are interested in getting on board. We are particularly interested in commercial, communication and financial competencies. Based in our joint office spaces in the center of Copenhagen and at CBS in Frederiksberg. And yes they do they do have Friday bars :-) Feel free to contact us with any questions! Paint'R

In the European Union alone, more than 1.5 million paint buckets are discarded daily, constituting a disposal of 340 tons of single-use plastic that is incinerated each day. Starting from early 2023 (2025 in Denmark and Slovenia), manufacturers are obligated to cover the disposal costs of their packaging based on sustainability criteria. In Denmark, this translates to an estimated 15% fee on paint buckets. Furthermore, the conventional round shape of packaging has proven suboptimal for logistics and transportation. Beyond its environmental impact, the traditional paint bucket poses challenges for professional painters. These challenges encompass ergonomic issues during handling, such as the strain of lifting two buckets simultaneously, which exceeds recommended weight limits according to the Working Environment Authority. Painters also find themselves in awkward positions when pouring paint into a roller bucket for wall application. The demanding physical nature of the painting profession in Denmark results in accelerated fatigue and early retirement for painters. Additionally, issues like lid leakage due to dried paint and the use of fragile, porous plastic contribute to unexpected spills, particularly during abrupt vehicle stops. Our innovative solution involves a cardboard box housing two patent-pending plastic bags, each containing 5 liters of paint. This packaging not only enhances the workflow for professional painters but also reduces costs and lowers carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions by approximately 65% per unit. The box's design facilitates easy and ergonomic transportation, allowing for a 45% increase in units per pallet. The box is opened, and one of the bags is inserted into a standard roller bucket used by painters. The bag effortlessly opens and seamlessly fits into the roller bucket, wrapping around the edges, and enabling the painter to begin work promptly. This functionality is made possible through an innovative patented design and specific plastic welding techniques.

SoGreen

Girls' education is an incredibly powerful climate solution due to its stong relationship with child marriage prevention and subsequent delayed motherhood; impacting population growth and lowering consumption-based emissions. 130 million girls in the world's poorest and most climate-vulnerable communities are effectively excluded from education due to poverty. Humanitarian organizations in low-income countries constantly struggle to fundraise and are never able to fully meet the needs of the most marginalized. SoGreen is a startup with a big heart and an even bigger ambition: A world where all girls realise their right to education and climate justice is placed at the heart of all climate action. In collaboration with leading scientists at renowned European research institutions in the field of demography and climate science,* SoGreen has developed a methodology to quantify the climate impact of girls' education in tonnes CO2-equivalent avoided. This allows for the generation of carbon credits (1 ton = 1 carbon credit) which can be sold on the international carbon market to channel climate finance to girls' education. In partnership with FAWEZA, a leading pan-African NGO focusing on girls' education, SoGreen's pilot project is being implemented in Zambia. Over the coming 5 years, the project will ensure a full secondary education for 180 marginalized girls. All carbon credits generated by the project have been sold ex ante to over 30 companies that have ambitious sustainability strategies, which allow for the use of carbon credits in addition to reducing their own emissions. SoGreen aims to be the provider of the worlds most popular carbon credits within the next 5 years; resulting in a powerful reduction in emissions and a massive increase in educational attainment - a basic human right. *International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Austria, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in Germany, and The Wittgenstein Centre for Demography and Global Human Capital (WIC) in Austria.
