ESEBA, a deep tech startup from DTU, transforms low-quality textile waste into MDF boards without binders or formaldehyde. We offer a sustainable, non-toxic alternative to traditional wood-based panels. Textile waste is a massive and growing problem in Europe – less than 1% is recycled into new products, and most ends up incinerated. At the same time, formaldehyde regulations are tightening, and deforestation pressures are increasing demand for alternatives to virgin wood. ESEBA’s mission is to enable local, circular board production through a scalable, plug-and-produce production line for furniture manufacturers.

MoveByBike is an urban logistics company. We deliver products by electric cargo bikes, focused on 'last mile logistics.' We specialise in the food and subscription sectors, however with our large bikes we can move many products within any industry. Historically, we have been funded by our founder and core funder, the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), but we are currently transitioning to a multi-funder model. EIT Climate-KIC colleagues are based in one of our local offices across Europe or work remotely from home based in one of the countries where we have a branch. We meet at our local offices to exchange and connect and use online collaboration tools work with each other and with our Community. At Coastgrass we have developed a sustainable replacement to crude oil-based plastic materials. By collecting and upcycling eelgrass from the Danish beaches we can offer a variety of different polymer compounds with a much lower carbon footprint than traditional plastic materials.
