What is RE-ZIP RE-ZIP is a circular packaging concept offering circular packaging to more or less all players in the ecommerce industry. By circulating and hence reusing rather than using single-use packaging (even recycled) we save CO2 even the first time a packaging is reused. It works likes this RE-ZIP delivers the packaging to webshops who offer the sustainable packing solution to their customers at check-out for a minor fee (paid back via reward voucher upon returning the packaging). Upon receipt of the goods the customer folds the RE-ZIP packaging to a return format and return it at a Drop Point. The packaging is returned to the RE-ZIP warehouse for cleaning and re-circulation to the webshops. The RE-ZIP packaging can be circulated up to 10 times, but more importantly the packaging will begin saving CO2 Within the first or second use – depending on the type. RE-ZIP has developed a state-of-the-art backend system supporting the above process and are currently operating in Denmark, UK and Poland. By accessing not only the vibrating hub with peer entrepreneurs, but also the best engineers specialised in sustainability with in different industries such as food, beverage, building, energy, infrastructure etc. The co-development and collaboration between startups and NIRAS’ many experts will be the fast track to grow ideas and innovations. Currently 25 startups and scaleups saluting the green transition is reciting in the hub on a daily basis, but we are working with more than 100 startups on an annual basis through our different programs and activities.
