Nordic BioVentures is a venture creation studio in Copenhagen focusing on planetary health. We work at the intersection of innovation and biology. We consult 100+ life science startups and projects per year through our tailored innovation programs and work for leading universities, venture capital and global deeptech NGOs and foundations.

EIT Climate-KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) is Europe’s foremost climate innovation initiative. We understand that keeping global temperature rise below 1.5˚C demands unprecedented change. It requires new social dynamics, ways of doing business, capital flows, policymaking, economic models, and new ways of living. That is why our mission is to leverage the power of systems innovation to transform whole places, industries, and value chains by 2030, working across sectors to develop and scale ambitious, mission-led programmes. Established in 2010 and headquartered in Amsterdam, we orchestrate a community of more than 200 organisations including large corporations and SMEs, municipal and regional governments, universities, and research institutes, as well as non-governmental organisations and uncommon actors. Historically, we have been funded by our founder and core funder, the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), but we are currently transitioning to a multi-funder model. EIT Climate-KIC colleagues are based in one of our local offices across Europe or work remotely from home based in one of the countries where we have a branch. We meet at our local offices to exchange and connect and use online collaboration tools work with each other and with our Community. On occasion, we meet in-person as teams, and once per year as an organisation.

The EU targets of 30% protected nature relies on heavy administrative work related to monitoring and ensuring the nature in fact is protected. At True Energy we're already doing it! True Energy offers a smart charging app to our end users so they can register their car or charger and have it start or stop charging based on the hour of day and the electricity price, so the user optimizes their charging to be cheapest. The service is free of charge for the end user because they participate in our flexibility pool where the power companies can buy offsetting of the consumption if the grid is overloaded or production is expensive. We use Google Workspace, GitLab as code repo, Jira for our agile project management, and Slack for chat. We have a policy of 100% line coverage for unit tests, and want to support continuous delivery. We focus on collaboration and an open, inclusive work environment. Agoprene is developing furniture foam from biomass to help the furniture industry reduce their need for petrochemicals. ​ Globally, furniture foam, which is derived from petroleum, accounts for 105 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. One armchair for example, emits an average of 43 kg CO2e, almost half of which is due to furniture foam. ​ Agoprene's foam is completely free of petrochemicals. We believe finding planet-friendly alternatives isn’t a challenge; it’s an opportunity.
