Sortrace is a Swedish cleantech startup. We mount cameras on waste collection trucks and use computer vision to detect material in the wrong fraction at every bin emptying. Municipalities and waste operators still rely heavily on spot checks and manual controls. That misses most of what actually happens at the curb, makes it hard to improve recycling quality, and leaves them without solid evidence when they need to inform residents or meet circular-economy targets. We give operators continuous, property-level insight: flagged deviations, images, and analytics in a web platform, with privacy built in and data hosted in the EU. Sortrace is live with Nordic municipalities; we’re a small team building real-world AI for climate-relevant infrastructure.
