Balance is an AI-native accounting firm. We use AI to run bookkeeping for startups and SMBs, with accountants who know each client’s business on top. Most accounting firms still run on manual work: categorising transactions, chasing receipts, reconciling at month end. We built Bea, our AI agent, to do that part. Bea categorises, reconciles and keeps the books up to date in real time. Our in-house accountants review the work, close the month and act as the person clients call when they need advice. Clients get audit-ready books at a flat price, and our team spends its time on judgement and relationships instead of data entry. We’re backed by Y Combinator, and Google Ventures led our $4.5M seed round. We’re around 20 people across Copenhagen and London, serve 150+ clients, and are growing fast. We work closely between finance, engineering and sales. Our accountants help shape the product by telling the engineers where Bea gets things wrong.
