Minus40 have an immediate need for a Senior PHP Developer to join their Belfast City Centre team; someone with significant development experience, who would like to take significant steps in a guardianship and leadership role. Applications would be considered from suitable candidates with a minimum 5 years’ experience. Remuneration will adapting according to experience and skill.

THE ROLE

- This is dual-faceted role.

- Initially it will be production-heavy: building, testing, deploying and monitoring websites and applications, primarily on a LAMP stack.

- But the right appointment for Minus40 will be someone with an inner- longing to take more control; a person who has aspirations to lead the way in terms of technology, architecture, and problem solving. A rapid progression to Chief Technology Officer awaits for the right candidate.

Primary duties will include:

- Development of bespoke software solutions in LAMP, iOS and Android environments.

- Monitoring, managing and improving hosting environments for our broad list of clients.

- Investing time in evaluating and implement new technologies that help improve our clients’ processes.

- Addressing and implementing coding standards for your Minus40 colleagues.

KEY SKILLS

- A proven track-record of leading development of large digital projects using Laravel (or equivalent) framework.

- Experience and indeed, willingness, to create WordPress projects the “right way”, using Composer, Timber, and Twig.

- A clear understanding of how to configure and manage servers in UNIX environments.

- A strong working knowledge of JavaScript/jQuery, with a particular emphasis on DOM manipulation. Some exposure to React or Angular would be a bonus.

- Client facing exposure, in particular in the form of providing support and guidance for existing projects.
