Responsibilities
- Help the team communicate, coordinate, and cooperate.
- Plan, organise, and facilitate Scrum events and rituals, including sprint planning, story estimation, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and velocity tracking.
- Ensure a good relationship between the team and the Product Owner as well as others outside of the team.
- Ensure the team members have a clear understanding of the requirements and priorities.
- Actively identify and remove impediments to team velocity.
- Enable and encourage the team to be self-organising, cross-functional, and autonomous .
- Ensure that the team operates in a way that is open, accurate, honest, efficient and transparent.
- Coach teams on Agile concepts to improve efficiency and enable better performance.
- Work with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of Scrum in the organisation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum two years of experience as a Scrum Master for commercial software development teams.
- Ability to build and maintain good team collaboration and relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to coach others effectively in Agile techniques.
- Strong influencing, conflict resolution, decision making and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Strong follow-through and sense of ownership.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Experience with various tools and techniques for enhancing teams’ ability to effectively deliver (e.g. burn down, burn up, velocity tracking, planning poker.)
- Applicants must have the relevant right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desired Criteria:
- Experience with Jira, Trello, and VSTS is desired.
- Scrum Master Certification preferable, Agile Coach Certification a plus.
