Solid IO is building a new way to personalize cancer treatment – starting with immunotherapies.
Our technology shows how a patient's own tumor and immune cells respond to different treatment options in a human-relevant model – opening up new possibilities for both cancer drug development and personalized treatment decisions.
Solid IO was founded in 2025 by CSO Heidi Haikala (ex Harvard and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute), CEO Noora Hujala and Lead Scientist Bassel Alsaed. We are a spinout from the University of Helsinki. We have established technical proof of concept, started clinical feasibility validation, raised EUR 2M in funding – and serving our first customers.
We want to strengthen our dynamic team for the mission ahead with an experienced operator whose entrepreneurial mindset and ambition match ours – potentially even at a co-founder level!
Together we make the biggest commercial choices: How do we finance the company? Where do we focus first? How do we take the world-class science to market? Which partnerships can move us forward fastest? And what kind of company do we want to build around it?
Your role will be strongly commercial and strategic. Together with the C-team, you will:
● turn our science into business
● build partnerships with pharma, biotech and diagnostics companies, leading cancer centers and KOLs
● design and execute the right market access and commercialization path
● build and lead the commercial team as we grow
● establish and maintain relationships with international investors
You will play a key role in shaping Solid IO’s direction, growth and future.
You are an experienced entrepreneurial commercial builder with a solid track record on how to turn scientific innovation into business. You have found customers, built partnerships, raised capital, opened markets and created commercial traction in an early-stage company or new business.
You know the international life science world and are comfortable working with investors, pharma and biotech companies, cancer centers, clinicians and KOLs. Existing relationships are valuable, but what matters even more is your ability to build trust, open doors and turn new relationships into results.
Experience in diagnostics is a strong plus, but not a requirement.
You are ambitious, curious and comfortable with uncertainty. You take ownership and are ready to get your hands dirty. You can challenge the founders and expect to be challenged in return.
You combine confidence with humility and want to build a company as part of a team rather than around yourself.
Most importantly, you want to build something that can have a real impact on how cancer patients are treated.
This is an opportunity to join Solid IO as a co-founder while there is still a lot to plan, decide and build.
Equity is a core part of the compensation package. Cash compensation reflects the realities of an early-stage company and will develop as we grow.
Our headquarters are in Helsinki, but there is no need to locate in Finland. The role is international and requires regular travel.
If this sounds like your kind of company to build, we would like to hear from you!
Share your experience in life science startup and scaleup companies and tell us briefly:
What got you excited about us?
What company-building results are you particularly proud of?
What have you got wrong along the way, and what did you learn from it?
