When was the last time you updated your Privacy Policy? Does the app do anything today that you're not telling users in your Terms of Service? When did you introduce OpenAI as a subprocessor and have your users actually been notified? We built Lawcel™ so product teams never have to worry about whether their legal terms with their users are up to date with their product.
Lawcel™ is a legal document administation platform that automatically detects when changes you introduce in your product (SaaS, or other software application) conflicts with the statements about how the product behaves written into your legal documents. If the product changes it automatically updates your ToS, Privacy Policy, etc. so you remain compliant. We're giving legal a hook into the development cycle. Users connect their Github account and optionally their product management tools such as Jira or Linear, and Lawcel™ then listens and notifies the legal team when something in the product is changing so much that the legal documents require an update.
To our knowledge, Lawcel™ is unique. We haven't encountered anyone else making this kind of product, and that makes us very excited. We think this will be huge. If the concept gets you excited and you can imagine millions of companies deriving value from this, you could be the person we're looking for.
And who are you then? Maybe you are the current Head of Legal in a company that builds a digital product? You only hear about product updates after they have shipped to users and then have to scramble to update your legal documents before anyone notices the compliance gap. First and foremost, we are looking for someone who knows how product teams work with compliance internally, what rubs them, where they get burned and how they deal with it. It's great if you also know a lot about writing strong legal documents for digital products, GDPR, and compliance frameworks, but the chief expertise we are hiring for is knowledge about the pain we are addressing.
We are a small team, fully bootstrapped, only a handful of customers. Not looking for funding. We improve Lawcel™ every day and your voice will have tremendous impact on the shape of the product as we expand the business. We aren't paying ourselves salaries and you won't get one either (you get equity over time), so you should consider this a side-project with a massive potential upside (cause we already built the thing and it demonstrably works, has market interest and obvious growth potential).
