Customer Support at Shine

Your Role as a Customer Support Specialist - Portugal

We're looking for more than a support professional. We want someone who truly understands the day-to-day reality of an accountant and is excited to use that expertise to help customers succeed while shaping the future of our product.

As a Customer Support Specialist, you'll be a trusted advisor to our customers, solving complex accounting challenges, improving their experience with Cloudware, and partnering with Product and Engineering to drive meaningful product improvements. If you're someone who questions the status quo, brings ideas to the table, and enjoys combining accounting with technology, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

• Provide expert remote support and guidance on accounting and product-related queries.

• Configure and customize Cloudware to meet customers' business needs.

• Diagnose issues, identify root causes, and collaborate with Product and Engineering to deliver effective solutions.

• Translate customer feedback and accounting expertise into product improvements, influencing the functional evolution of Cloudware.

• Challenge existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to better ways of working.

• Document customer interactions and support the resolution of complex accounting scenarios.

About you

• At least 1 year of experience as an Accounting Technician in an accounting firm or similar environment.

• Solid knowledge of:

  • Bookkeeping and accounting entries

  • Bank reconciliations

  • VAT calculation and submission

  • Portuguese tax obligations (Modelo 10, Modelo 22, IES, and related filings)

  • Payroll processing

  • Fixed asset management

  • Month-end and year-end closing

• Native-level Portuguese and good English communication skills.

• Strong customer focus, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

• A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge processes and suggest improvements.

• Ownership, collaboration, and a genuine curiosity for technology.

Nice to Have

• Experience with ERP or accounting software, particularly Cloudware/Cegid Business

• Previous experience in functional or software support.

• Ability to quickly learn new tools and business processes.
