Skiftr focuses on solving workforce redeployment caused by AI and economic downturns. When automation or a downturn reshapes an industry, millions of people are left to figure out what they can do next, and the hardest part is rarely the loss itself, but not knowing where to go.
We help people understand the skills they already have, see how those skills translate as the market shifts, and find a direction forward, including paths they'd never have considered on their own. McKinsey estimates around 12 million job transitions a year in Europe alone; helping people make those moves with confidence is one of the defining challenges of the coming decade.
We're backed by Google and EIFO. We've built and released our first product, it has landed well in the market, and now we're scaling.
To accomplish our mission, we have built entirely new data infrastructure that is able to listen to the entire Nordic market in real time.
We have gathered the strongest people in the industry to solve this mission, including senior leaders from McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Goldman Sachs, and Heidrick & Struggles.
As a Summer Associate, you'll be part of the product team, focusing on product and data.
Two things will fill your summer:
Be the voice of the user. Listen to and synthesize user feedback, test every change our developers ship to test, and give them concrete feedback and suggestions. Use your judgment and intuition to help the team prioritize what to build next. You'll be part of building and shaping the roadmap by knowing how every button and every piece of copy feels to use. Skiftr is obsessed with the experience a user gets in one of their most vulnerable times, looking for a job, and our language and experience need to respect that.
Tell the story of the job market. Skiftr sees every job in the Nordics, and you'll turn that unique dataset into communication material: insights, articles, posts, and analyses that show the world what's really happening in the labor market. We have a unique dataset - no one else sees the entire hidden job market in the Nordics. Let's use that to help shape how the Nordics react. We work with unions (fagforeninger), a-kasser, and outplacement firms to bring the story out.
Test new features and fixes before and after release; relay sharp, actionable feedback to the development team.
Put on the customer lens, and experience the product, and produce feedback.
Build and maintain a prioritized view of what users need most, and argue your case in product discussions.
Mine our job market data for stories: salary trends, rising and declining skills, shifting industries.
Draft external communication, LinkedIn posts, newsletter insights, press-ready analyses, in Skiftr's voice.
PowerPoint is not allowed in Skiftr. Your work either touches a customer, builds code or creates communication.
A student partway through your degree, with a sharp analytical mind and strong product intuition.
A confident writer who can turn data into a story people actually want to read (English required; Danish a plus).
Structured and self-driven - you can take an open-ended problem and come back with something concrete.
Motivated by building a meaningful product, one that helps real people navigate their careers.
Drawn to the leading edge of AI: you want to see up close how an AI-native product is actually built.
Comfortable in an early-stage startup: fast pace, real ownership.
Real responsibility from day one: your feedback shapes the product, your writing carries the Skiftr name.
