Mechanical / Development Engineer - Internship Fall 2026

Salary DKK 5,999 - DKK 6,000 per month

Build the Future of Heavy-Lift Cargo UAS

At Acodyne, you will help design and physically build the next generation of high-speed, heavy-lift cargo UAS by moving between CAD models, carbon fiber parts, simulation, and reality.

Your Role You will work closely with our CTO and engineering team on the physical systems that define our aircraft. From structural design to manufacturing, this is as real as engineering gets. You will:

  • Design and optimize mechanical components in CAD

  • Build and assemble prototypes using 3D printing, CNC, and workshop tools

  • Participate in carbon fiber composite manufacturing

  • Test and iterate on structures and subsystems

  • Support development of scalable manufacturing processes

  • Document designs and test results for certification purposes

About You You like getting your hands dirty as much as solving equations. You’re the type who builds things outside class and wants to take that to the next level. You likely:

  • Are currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace, or similar

  • Have experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.)

  • Enjoy hands-on prototyping and workshop work

  • Are curious about UAVs, robotics, or high-performance systems

  • Are proactive, independent, and eager to learn fast

Nice to have:

  • Experience with composites or lightweight structures

  • Exposure to aerodynamics or simulation tools

  • Workshop experience (machining, fabrication, etc.)

About Acodyne We are a UAS company developing heavy-lift, high-speed eVTOL UAS for defence and industrial logistics. We are currently 10 people, based at our workshop at Avedøre Airfield, and plan to double our team in the next year.

About the Internship

  • Duration: Full-time for 5-6 months, with start in January/February 2027.

  • Time off: 2.5 vacation days per month + Danish public holidays.

  • Location: Avedøre Flyveplads, Workshop-based, approximately 45 minutes by public transport from Copenhagen city center (Google Maps).

  • Compensation: DKK 6,000 per month before tax. Please note this is a contribution to living and transport. It will likely not cover full living costs. Interns are expected to supplement with grants or other funding.

  • Please note that this internship opportunity is intended for currently enrolled students who wish to gain relevant work experience as part of their studies. We particularly encourage applications from students who are able to use the internship as an integrated part of their degree programme, for example through ECTS credits, a project-based internship, or another formal study-related arrangement.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and interviews will be conducted continuously. Please note that we are currently unable to provide visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.

Working at
Acodyne

Acodyne is building the world’s fastest unmanned eVTOL cargo aircraft for heavy payloads. Designed for missions where time, access, and risk define the outcome, whether it’s offshore logistics or frontline resupply. With a proprietary ducted-fan system and fixed-wing efficiency, the E200 model carries 200 kg at 450 km/h, delivering critical supplies up to 10× faster than land and at a fraction of helicopter cost. We are currently 10 people, based at our workshop at Avedøre Airfield, and plan to double our team in the next year.
