👀 Finance Department at Shine


Our team is structured around Accounting, Tax & Treasury, Sales Administration & Collections, Procurement, and Finance ERP & Systems, covering the full spectrum of financial operations, process governance and systems enablement across the Shine & SB/CPA European division. Distributed across multiple European countries, the team works as a single unit to deliver reliable execution, harmonised processes and scalable systems, securing the build-up and long-term performance of the new financial perimeter.


📋 Your Role as an Director Accounting Tax and Treasury

This is a newly created, high-impact role reporting directly to VP Accounting, Tax & Treasury.

Lead and ensure reliable daily financial operations, accounting, tax and treasury operations across all European entities of the Shine & SB/CPA division, while building scalable and standardised processes. This role covers the pan-European market.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Run core accounting operations across entities: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable accounting & cash application, and expense compliance.

  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closings across all pan-European entities within the division (e.g., France, Germany, Nordics, Spain, and Portugal).

  • Define, document and enforce harmonised accounting, tax and treasury processes, standards and calendars, focusing on streamlining and harmonizing all accounting principles.

  • Ensure VAT and local tax compliance across Europe, in coordination with external advisors, including challenging tax professionals.

  • Support the unified single ERP project, working with the Head of Finance, ERP to define business specifications for ERP evolutions, carve-out activities, and Finance transformation initiatives.

  • Optimize and automate core finance processes, including the Order to Cash and Procure to Pay processes, through AI and digitalization.

  • Manage a global team across multiple European countries, including 5 direct reports (Heads of Accounting for France, Germany, Nordics, ILA, and a Head of Treasury) and a total organization of around 22 people.

  • Drive harmonisation of practices between the different entities of the Shine environment.


📍 Job located in France, Paris or Lyon with possibility of two remote working days per week


Success Metrics

Success will be measured by the ability to achieve the following:

  • Unify the system of accounting and the different accounting principles across entities.

  • Ensure "right first time" financial productions that meet all deadlines and adhere to compliance requirements

  • People management - Lead, motivate and develop the accountancy org.


🔎 About you

  • Fluent French and English are essential.

  • Must have knowledge of French GAAP (General Accounting Principle)

  • Strong background in operational accounting within a multi-entity and international environment.

  • Solid knowledge of European accounting standards, VAT, and treasury operations.

  • Proven experience managing distributed teams during transformation phases.

  • A highly hands-on, execution-oriented leader with a professional focus that is more operational than strategic.

  • Experience working with tax advisors and the ability to challenge them.

  • Experience in brand management.
