Winningtemp offers unique and revolutionary technology for supporting and enabling successful teams. This is done by collecting, visualizing, and taking action on real-time data regarding the employee's experience of leadership, meaningfulness, teamwork and overall work situation.
We are on a mission to forever change how people succeed together. At Winningtemp we're an ambitious group of people working from Gothenburg, Stockholm, Oslo and Ukraine. Our head office is located in the very city centre of Gothenburg.
We care about the well-being of our employees and therefore we of course work continuously with our own Winningtemp platform to be an attractive employer.
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our tech leadership team and help shape the future of our engineering organisation. Reporting directly to our CPTO, you will have personnel responsibility for around 15 people – Tech Leads, Engineers, Data engineers, DevOps and a QA Lead – working across our four cross-functional product teams together with UX and Product Management.
This is a leadership role with a strong focus on change management. We're currently going through a significant transformation in how we build software, with AI playing an increasingly central role in our product development process. You will be a key driver in shaping how our engineering organisation adopts and benefits from tools like Claude Code and other AI-assisted development workflows – setting the direction, building the capability, and making sure the change actually lands in everyday work.
You'll spend your time coaching engineers, driving personal development, setting clear expectations and creating the conditions for self-leading teams to thrive. You'll own our development process end-to-end, continuously evolving it together with your colleagues, and you'll plan staffing needs and lead recruitment together with Product Leadership and HR.
While this isn't a hands-on product development role, we expect you to be technically credible and comfortable getting your hands dirty when it makes sense – whether that's prototyping a process improvement, exploring a new AI workflow yourself, or jumping in to support the team. You should be able to code and to build skills and tooling that make the engineering organisation better.
You'll also be a key contributor to how we evolve our ways of working: agile processes, development practices, and making sure we live up to the security and compliance standards expected of a modern HR-tech platform handling sensitive data.
Since we build a product about employee experience and leadership, we naturally hold ourselves to a high standard in how we lead our own people.
We're looking for an experienced people leader who genuinely enjoys developing other people, building strong teams and driving change.
You have at least 3 years of experience as an Engineering Manager with personnel responsibility.
You have hands-on experience with AI-assisted development – Claude Code, building skills, agentic workflows, or similar. This is critical for the role; we're looking for someone who has already worked with these tools, not just read about them.
You have led change initiatives and know what it takes to actually move an organisation from A to B – not just announce it.
You have a background in engineering and a solid understanding of modern software development. You're a credible sparring partner on technical and architectural discussions, and you can roll up your sleeves and code when needed.
You have experience working in agile environments and you take ownership of how teams continuously improve.
You have led recruitment processes and know how to attract, hire and onboard strong engineers.
You're comfortable working closely with Product Managers, UX and other stakeholders in a cross-functional setup.
Experience from SaaS and/or scale-up environments is a strong plus.
You are fluent in both Swedish and English.
As a person you are empathetic, communicative and structured. You lead with curiosity rather than control, and you understand that your job is to make your team successful – not the other way around. You're business-minded and pragmatic, and you keep the bigger picture in focus.
