At Six Robotics, we build intelligent software that gives Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) the ability to collaborate, adapt on the fly, and execute missions that were previously impossible. From our base in Oslo, our 70+ experts in defence, software, and AI develop our flagship autonomy and swarm platform used by both government and industry. In close partnership with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), we move fast from concept to live deployment, often in the field alongside end users.
We work with advanced hardware and software, a modern tech stack, and missions that demand both technical mastery and operational discipline. Everyone is close to the action, from deep technical problem-solving to field operations. We move fast and value clarity, integrity, and teamwork in everything we do.
At Six Robotics, every person executes with precision, adapts to changing conditions, and strengthens the team. Getting in is hard, and you’ll be challenged every day. But if you have the skill, the discipline, and the drive to push your limits and always be sharpening your blade, you’ll find no better place to deliver real-world impact while collaborating and learning from the best in the field.
Six Robotics delivers advanced autonomy software deployed on UAV platforms produced across multiple manufacturing partners. As production scales, we are establishing the Manufacturing Operations Engineer role to build and own the operational backbone that enables reliable, scalable production across partners.
You will ensure that Six Robotics can move from successful engineering development to consistent, repeatable delivery at scale.
You will have an important role in establishing, operating, and continuously improving the production processes that ensure software can be reliably deployed in manufacturing. You will ensure that the right software version is deployed onto the right hardware, in the right volume, with the right quality, at the right time.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and operations. You will act as the technical bridge between factory floors and internal engineering teams, translating real production challenges into actionable technical solutions while ensuring production runs smoothly across partners.
Production Deployment
Responsible for the deployment process of Six Robotics software onto partner production lines
Scale and operationalise drone flashing across manufacturing partners
Ensure correct software version, configuration, and production readiness
Plan & Coordinate Production
Coordinate production volumes and align deployment with project timelines
Book and prepare production windows with partners
Support ramp-up of new platforms and production programs
Integrate Into Factories
Travel to partner sites to set up and validate production deployments
Lead or participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
Integrate deployment workflows into existing factory operations
Train and support operators in deployment procedures and production workflows
Solve Problems Where They Happen
Act as first-line technical support during production
Diagnose issues on the factory floor and translate them into actionable engineering feedback
Ensure Traceability & Quality
Maintain full traceability of deployed software across produced units
Build documentation and repeatable processes enabling scalable production
This role requires someone who can operate across disciplines, combining strong engineering credibility with hands-on operational execution. You have a practical understanding of production or manufacturing environments and are comfortable working directly on factory floors.
You think in structured ways and are able to break down complex operational issues into clear, technical problems that engineering teams can act on. You communicate effectively with engineers, while staying grounded in real-world production constraints.
You are curious, self-driven, and motivated by solving problems in environments where software meets hardware and things need to work in practice.
We believe the right candidate brings:
Several years of experience working with production lines, manufacturing environments, or software deployment into production systems
Technical educational background (engineering or similar)
Experience working close to hardware, embedded systems, or production environments
Strong technical understanding enabling effective communication with engineering teams
Experience participating in or supporting Factory Acceptance Tests or similar validation activities
Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Excellent communication skills in English
Nice-to-haves:
Experience from consumer electronics, EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services), or high-volume production environments
Embedded software or firmware experience
Experience deploying software onto hardware products at scale
Experience working with external manufacturing partners
Background from robotics, defence, aerospace, or industrial systems
