FlavorScale is scaling from a Proof of Concept to a Global Powerhouse. As we transition our MVP into a premium Native experience, we are building our iOS and Android engines in parallel. We are seeking an Android Developer Intern (or postgrad working student) to shadow the iOS development and spearhead the native Android rebuild.
This is a unique, high-level technical role. You won't just be coding in a silo; you will be "shadow-building"—interpreting the iOS native logic and translating it into a world-class Android experience. You’ll work directly with the CTO to ensure that whether a user is in Amsterdam or New York, the FlavorScale experience is flawlessly native on every device.
Background: Currently studying Computer Science or Software Engineering, or a postgrad looking to execute a full-scale native migration.
The Android Specialist: You are fluent in Kotlin and have a deep love for Jetpack Compose. You understand the nuances of the Android ecosystem and Material Design.
The "Rosetta Stone" Coder: You can look at Swift/iOS logic and understand the underlying backend intent, translating it efficiently into native Android code.
Portfolio-Driven: You lead with your work. Your GitHub or portfolio demonstrates that you can build clean, scalable, and high-performance Android applications.
Vibe: You are a "Mirror Builder." You enjoy the challenge of cross-platform consistency and want to ensure Android users get a first-class experience, not an afterthought.
Parallel Development: Shadow the iOS build process to ensure the Android version mirrors the features, logic, and performance of the iOS counterpart.
Kotlin/Compose Mastery: Architect the new Android frontend from the ground up, ensuring animations and transitions are optimized for the diverse Android hardware landscape.
Cross-Platform Logic Sync: Work with the iOS team and CTO to ensure both native apps communicate perfectly with our global backend API.
Feature Parity: Ensure every "Full-Flow" data point and discovery feature works seamlessly on Android, maintaining our global standard of excellence.
Technical Documentation: Help build the dual-platform documentation that will allow us to scale to millions of users worldwide.
This is a work-based internship or a "Masterclass" exercise for a postgrad. You are getting the rare opportunity to lead a Native Android build for a global startup. While we cannot promise permanent roles today—as our key hires depend on the 2026/2027 investment cycles—this is our Primary Engineering Pipeline. If you build the engine that powers our global Android presence, you will be the top candidate for our Lead Android roles.
Location: Remote-First (Located within EU).
Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Ability to read/understand Swift/iOS logic is a massive advantage.
Portfolio: Mandatory. We want to see your ability to handle complex Android builds.
Status: Open to Bachelor/Master students or Working Students (Postgrads).
Language: Fluent in English.
