Culinary Ecosystem & Relations Internship (Randstad-Based)

FlavorScale is seeking a Culinary Ecosystem & Relations Intern to be our "Industry Insider" in the Amsterdam food scene. We aren't just looking for 1,000 partners; we are looking for the right 1,000 partners—the icons, the hidden gems, and the trendsetters that define the city’s soul.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you will work directly with the CEO to bridge the gap between the traditional Horeca world and our data-driven discovery platform. You are the advocate for the restaurant owner, ensuring tech actually serves the kitchen.

Who You Are

  • The Foodie Insider: You speak "Horeca." You know the best espresso in West and the most authentic spots in Noord. You understand the intense pressure of a Friday night service and respect the craft of hospitality.

  • The Social Butterfly: You don't just "network"—you build genuine trust. You’re the person who knows the staff at the local pop-up and the faces behind the city’s most exciting counters.

  • Vibe-Curator: You have an intuitive sense of "Experience." You know how to translate a physical dining atmosphere into a digital "Match" that resonates with our specific user base.

  • High Agency: You see a new concept opening its doors and you’re the first one inside to welcome them to the FlavorScale ecosystem.

  • Background: Ideally studying Hospitality Management (Hoge Hotelschool), Gastronomy, or F&B Management.

Your Daily Mission

  • Curation & Quality Control: Identify the "Must-Haves" for the FlavorScale ecosystem, ensuring our partner list reflects the highest quality and most authentic of Amsterdam’s food culture.

  • Direct Field Relations: Spend your days in the city with the CEO, meeting with owners and managers to show them how FlavorScale helps them reclaim the "Value Left on the Table" by understanding guest intent.

  • Merchant Advocacy: Act as the primary liaison for our partners, helping them refine their "Flavor Profile" and ensuring the platform accurately reflects their culinary vision.

  • Industry Networking: Attend local food events, pop-ups, and industry nights to build organic trust and long-term relationships within the Amsterdam Horeca community.

  • Strategic Insight: Participate in weekly syncs to report on merchant pain points, helping us ensure our B2B tool solves real-world operational headaches.

The Opportunity

This is an unpaid internship that offers a "Masterclass" in startup scaling and the evolution of the food industry. While we cannot promise specific timelines or positions—as our key hires depend on 2026/2027 investment cycles and board decisions—this role is designed to be a talent pipeline. Successful interns who prove their value on the streets of Amsterdam will be top-of-mind for strategic roles as the company levels up.

Specific Skillset Requirements

  • Local Residency: You must live in or very close to Amsterdam.

  • Language: Fluent in English. Dutch or another European language is a major Plus for connecting with local owners.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal skills. You need to be as comfortable talking to a Michelin-star chef as you are to a street-food vendor.

  • Empathy: You understand that for many owners, their restaurant is their life. You pitch with respect for their craft.

FlavorScale

FlavorScale is a next-generation foodtech startup focused on revolutionizing how Gen Z discovers and connects with eateries. We solve the problem of fragmented, outdated, and inauthentic food discovery experiences that leave young food lovers scrolling endlessly yet never quite finding places that truly match their tastes and vibes. Current platforms often prioritize ads, generic ratings, or logistics rather than capturing the authentic culinary experience and community connection young users crave. FlavorScale’s platform is video-first and AI-powered, delivering engaging, personalized, and authentic food recommendations by harnessing behavioral data and smart algorithms. We bridge the gap between foodies and restaurants, empowering users to explore and share real experiences, and helping eateries reach the right audience with data-driven insights. Our live MVP has proven product-market fit, with strong success in Copenhagen, and we’re now preparing to scale through a larger pilot in a major Northwestern European city. By focusing exclusively on food discovery for Gen Z and combining community, AI, and real-time data, FlavorScale is poised to transform food discovery from a fragmented chore into an engaging, authentic, and efficient experience that benefits both consumers and the food industry. FlavorScale is building the definitive food discovery platform for Gen Z, video-first, AI-powered, and community-driven. Our MVP is live on Firebase, pre-pilot nailed strong traction in Copenhagen (our biggest win), and we're now scaling for a major Northwestern Europe launch with data insights that restaurants and brands crave. Why FlavorScale? Real momentum: Proven product-market fit from live MVP and pilots. Next: bigger city rollout, 2026 Q2 funding round, AI personalization at scale. Founding-level impact: Join a young, driven team as we build the core stack (Firebase, ML recs, event pipelines) with equity and ownership from day one. Foodtech at its best: Blend cutting-edge tech (React Native, Google Cloud, recommendation engines) with real-world testing in top food cities like Copenhagen, London, Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam. High-agency culture: Ship weekly, collaborate daily, iterate from user data. In-person team time in Denmark/Netherlands (relocation supported).
