You'll be Optivian's first marketing hire and a strategic partner to the founding team. We need someone with the experience and conviction to challenge the CEO and the other Founders on how growth should be built, and the systems mindset to make it happen at scale with a team of AI agents.
This is a genuinely new kind of role. Six months ago, it couldn't have existed. Your job isn't to manually produce content, run campaigns, and manage channels but rather it's to build autonomous marketing systems powered by AI agents that do 70-90% of the operational work, while you focus on strategy, quality, and continuous improvement. Think of it like a senior engineer who architects systems and reviews output rather than writing every line of code.
You need to know what good looks like. You don't need to personally execute every task, but you need to evaluate whether the output meets the bar, just like our developers don't write code line by line anymore, but they know whether the logic is sound.
As the company grows, you'll shape the marketing function and define what this role looks like for the AI era. If you're excited about building something from scratch in a new category where the playbook doesn't exist yet, we'd love to talk.
Growth strategy & positioning. Work alongside the founders to define how Optivian wins in the market. Challenge assumptions, shape the narrative, and help establish "AI Sales Execution" as a category buyers recognize. You're expected to have strong opinions on what we should and shouldn't do - and to back them up.
AI-powered marketing systems. Build workflows that handle the bulk of operational marketing: content production, campaign execution, competitive monitoring, and analytics. Your role is to architect these systems, set the quality bar, and continuously improve them. Own the marketing dashboard, run experiments with clear evaluation criteria, double down on what works, and kill what doesn’t. We’ll support you in learning our AI tooling (Claude Cowork, Claude Code, and our internal AI operating system).
Content & demand generation. Own the content engine end to end - define the editorial strategy, ensure everything published builds Optivian’s authority with sales leaders, and maintain quality across articles, case studies, founder-led content, and LinkedIn presence. AI agents will draft; you’ll direct and ensure it’s genuinely valuable, not just volume. On the demand gen side, build and optimize across organic, paid, and outbound channels - everything ties back to qualified pipeline, not vanity metrics. You’ll target mid-market and enterprise B2B sales teams with complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes.
Broader growth contributions. In a five-person company, you’ll contribute beyond marketing. You may join sales conversations, contribute to product positioning based on market feedback, or explore new distribution channels.
Must-haves:
5+ years of B2B SaaS marketing experience with demonstrated strategic impact. You've shaped marketing strategy, not just executed someone else's plan.
You've generated qualified pipeline before - not just leads, not just MQLs, but real opportunities that turned into revenue.
Systems thinking. You naturally ask "how do I build this so it runs without me?" You think in workflows, automation, and scalable processes rather than one-off tasks.
Strong enough conviction to push back on founders. If you think the CEO's idea is wrong, you say so - with data and reasoning to back it up.
Strong content instinct. You know what resonates with enterprise sales leaders and can tell the difference between AI-generated filler and genuinely valuable content.
Data-driven decision making. You optimize for pipeline impact, not activity metrics.
Excellent written English. Our markets are Europe and the US, so native or near-native proficiency is essential.
Willingness to learn and work with AI tools daily. You don't need to be an AI expert on day one - we'll teach you - but you need genuine curiosity and a desire to work this way.
Nice-to-haves:
Early-stage or founding team experience: you've built marketing from zero before.
Background in category creation: you've helped define a new product category, not just competed in an existing one.
Experience with the sales tech ecosystem (CRM, conversation intelligence, sales engagement).
Familiarity with AI agent concepts such as context windows, RAG, agent orchestration, skills, and tool calling.
Familiarity with enterprise sales methodologies like MEDDPICC.
A role that didn't exist until now. This is a new kind of marketing position built for the AI era. You'll define the playbook, not follow one.
Strategic ownership, not task execution. You'll be a partner to the founders, with real decision-making authority over how growth is built.
