We are now looking to hire a skilled Mechanical Engineer for our R&D team to explore the limitless possibilities of machine and tooling development and drive our mission forward.
Our factory uses a revolutionary production method that makes it possible to replace traditional rubber in pneumatic tires with new, sustainable materials.

The role
As a Mechanical Engineer at reTyre’s R&D department, you'll be instrumental in developing the technology that powers our innovative manufacturing machines. You won't just be driving and working on small-scale projects; you'll be a key player in building a large-scale factory, focusing on heavy machinery that can produce tires with unprecedented efficiency and customization.
Your role will extend beyond the engineering department. You'll collaborate with external suppliers and development partners to source materials and technologies that align with our vision. You'll also be involved in setting up new factories, potentially traveling to various locations abroad to oversee the implementation of our technologies.
In essence, no two days will be the same. You'll be central in creating a new type of scalable, distributed micro-factories for tire production, transforming not just how tires are made, but how the world views them.
Your responsibilities will include
Development and optimization of manufacturing machines, focusing on injection molding and automation.
Collaborate with other engineers in R&D and Manufacturing to integrate new technologies into existing systems.
Work closely with production teams to ensure machines are scalable and meet quality standards.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new projects.
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems in the factory.
Collaborate with external suppliers and development partners to source cutting-edge materials and technologies.
Be involved in setting up new factories, including potential overseas locations.
Ensure all machinery and processes comply with safety and environmental regulations.
Take part in developing completely new innovations concerning both machinery and products.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in heavy industries. Injection moulding production experience is a major plus but not a requirement.
Extensive knowledge of Automation and mechanical systems.
Able to work closely with Automation Engineers
Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
Excellent at, and find joy in project management - and coordination responsibilities.
Tooling or mould maintenance experience.
Hands on Production line troubleshooting experience.
Knowledge on ISO manufacturing standards and root cause analysis.
