Role Description

Validio is looking for a member of the Sales Engineering team to partner closely with Sales and help drive technical validation across the full deal lifecycle. At Validio, we work with some of the most AI- and data-driven companies in the world, whose data quality and reliability challenges require both deep technical understanding and strong business alignment.

As a Sales Engineer, you will work directly with prospective customers to understand their business problems, map them to Validio’s platform, and guide technical stakeholders through evaluation and decision-making. You will play a critical role in shaping deal strategy, owning technical validation, and ensuring prospects clearly understand the value Validio delivers.

This role sits at the intersection of sales, product, and engineering. You will act as a trusted technical advisor to prospects, build strong technical champions, and help scale repeatable pre-sales processes as the company grows.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with Sales to shape deal strategy, qualify opportunities, and progress deals through technical validation.

  • Lead technical discovery with prospective customers to deeply understand their data stack, workflows, and pain points.

  • Map customer business challenges to clear, compelling technical solutions using Validio’s platform.

  • Own the Proof-of-Value (PoV) process end-to-end, including planning, execution, and successful outcomes.

  • Deliver technical demos, presentations, and workshops tailored to different stakeholder audiences.

  • Build and nurture technical champions within customer organizations to support successful deal closure.

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact throughout the pre-sales cycle, addressing technical questions and objections.

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to relay market feedback, influence roadmap priorities, and improve pre-sales enablement.

  • Develop and document scalable pre-sales processes, assets, and frameworks to support a growing Sales Engineering function.

  • Support early customer handoff to post-sales teams to ensure continuity and a smooth transition.

We believe you are/have:

  • 5+ years Proven experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or sales engineering roles, ideally within data, analytics, or developer-focused products.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively.

  • Strong ability to engage with both business and technical stakeholders, from individual contributors to senior leaders.

  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments and contributing to building processes from the ground up.

  • Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or other related field

Technical background

  • Solid understanding of the modern data stack, including data warehouses, BI tools, and data transformation frameworks (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, dbt).

  • Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to discuss data models, pipelines, and analytical workflows.

  • Strong technical curiosity and a desire to continuously deepen your understanding of data infrastructure and data quality challenges.

  • Ability to connect technical capabilities to business value and articulate ROI in customer conversations.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguous technical environments and learning new tools quickly.
