Location: UK and Kyiv first, Oslo in the long run
Mission
Every month, drones injure and kill thousands of Ukrainians. Munin builds point-defense systems to stop them. Our first product is a hand-launched micro-missile designed to intercept small drones at close range. It is small enough to carry three in a vest and cheap enough for mass deployment. Our goal is to change the battlefield in Ukraine through very high-volume production, then deliver proven systems to NATO.
Role summary
We are hiring a founding computer vision engineer. You will be responsible for pipelines that detect russian drones across battlefield conditions.
You will start in the English countryside, living with the team of 6 next to our workshop and test site. After a few months, you will relocate to Kyiv to work directly with the Ukrainian military and scale production using front-line feedback. You will not operate near front-line areas, and you will work from Ukraine only while the security situation remains stable.
What you will do
Own the real-time vision system for detecting small drones, working with other CV engineers
Data collection and pipeline iteration using self-collected and battlefield data
Work with soldiers to define requirements
Deliver perception under tight compute, power, and latency limits
Integrate perception into guidance and control systems
Requirements
Significant hands-on experience building deployed computer vision pipelines
You’ve shipped systems under time pressure
High personal drive and tolerance for long, intense work periods
Comfortable owning ambiguous problems end-to-end without much supervision
Nice to have
Startup experience
Experience with electronics, firmware, control or mechanical design
Serious personal engineering projects outside work or university
Military background
Credibility
Contracts with UK and Norwegian MoDs. In four months, we went from concept to a robust missile prototype that is smaller and cheaper than anything comparable, can be fired with one hand, and reliably intercepts FPV drones.
Recent work includes
Working with the Ukrainian armed forces to go from pre-idea to warhead design, production, and live-fire testing in 24 hours
Car-mounted missile testing at 200 km/h
Building an air cannon in two days, then destructively testing 50 missiles to diagnose a hardware issue
Six launches in a single day, with design iterations between each launch
Apply
Our team is from the Special Forces, Stanford, 1X, Imperial College, FLIR, student engineering teams and non traditional paths. What we share is the ability to build real systems fast, take ownership and work toward a safer Europe.
