As we see a high potential to use the collected data for risk prediction, automation and other AI-powered solutions, we are expanding our tech team with a dedicated data scientist to lead this work. You will become a critical person in the team, bridging concepts, methodologies, and data insights with business needs and opportunities.

You will be working closely together with the CTO, senior UX designer and senior data engineer to bring new capabilities to the Qarma products.

With a global customer base, we have people relying on our uninterrupted service at all hours. Our system has a large test-coverage, and we take pride in developing robust software. All our work is done in close collaboration with the rest of the company and our users, giving us a good understand of how the system is used.

The Job

Your job will be to design and develop new AI branded features based on machine-learning. You will be supported with back-end developers, dev-ops people and an experienced data engineer on the technical side, and with UX and customer-facing teams on the business side.

Our data stack is built on AWS, Snowflake, dbt and Kestra, and expandable with data science and machine learning tools that fit our infrastructure and workflow. You will have a large degree of freedom in your work, and you are expected to take responsibility for what you do.

At Qarma you will be joining a highly skilled development team consisting of about 15 people split between UX, backend, frontend, data and mobile application developers.

Even as our team is growing, we believe that everyone should have a say when it comes to planning and technical decisions. We take responsibility for the product as a whole, which results in a good working environment, where focus is on making it right.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with data science and ML frameworks in practice and at scale

• Strong foundation in statistics

• Analytical skills and experience with deriving insights from data

• Experience and/or interest in computer vision algorithms

• Good English skills

• Open to learning and teaching
