About the role

We're looking for a Platform Engineer to join an agile platform team with the responsibility of helping the rest of the engineering and product organisations be more efficient by building, improving and maintaining our shared development platforms. We have minimal overhead and bureaucracy as we want teams to be able to focus on what is important. Our company is small and fast paced - most days are varied and you will get to try a lot of different things.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely together with development teams to ensure that solutions are designed with scale, performance and operability in mind.

• Design, build, and automate CI/CD infrastructure and tools.

• Perform and automate vulnerability patching of our tools and infrastructure.

• Set up and automate monitoring and alerting.

• Write documentation on tools, environments and procedures.

• Ensure our systems scale and perform according to our service levels.

• Troubleshoot reported issues and contribute with bug fixes.

• Communicate with our partners and help setup their secure access to our systems.

Our tech stack

• Primarily Java Spring Boot and MariaDB on the backend, React and typescript on the frontend and Python for scripting.

• Platform infrastructure contains Docker, Ansible, Gitlab, Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, RabbitMQ, Redis and more.

• Our architecture is cloud-agnostic and primarily built with microservices. As we expand into new markets, launch with new customers and release new products, we need to stay ahead of the game.

Requirements

• You have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent with at least 2 years of experience with some of our platform tools.

• You have experience with Java development and pipelines.

• You are pragmatic and strive for maintainability, automation, and infrastructure-as-code.

• You care deeply about the team, helping others be more efficient, and can take the lead on initiatives.

• You are proactive and take action when you spot problems.

• You value continuous improvement and low maintenance systems.
